Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Frostyfirefly: Floor 7 in the Pit and still going, my blade is almost broken, my machine gun is busted, but my lucky pistol will get me through >:)
avatar
DrRoxo: For a second there I thought that Pit somehow translates to GOG fall sale and broken weaponry to empty wallet... >_>
Lol, good analogy that one.

truhlik77: What I read now?? Just return to home and first what I saw is that missed NWN.
Thank you damned Prague public transport ... :/
You did get home safe and sound... :)

snip3rfire: I'm just finding it weird that there's no clear indication of when this sale will actually end. We've got people manually calculating the games here, and creating lists.

How will we know when it's over? Will our lists have run out, and the page will just refresh and GOG will go back to normal? Even Steam has a few timers about to make it clear when a sale will end. I thought a sale of this size and significance would have more of an indication.

Maybe instead of "Last Chance" on the final game, they'll put "Last Game" underneath it to give everyone warning the sale is over.
avatar
Cardian: Well, we know that there were 101 games on The List and that everyone gets a Last Chance in round 3. So, it's pretty clear when this will be over, I guess.
Just thought they'd even put the remaining number of games, and round count up on display, rather than us calculating it ourselves.

smoother: Has anyone a spare-copy of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream? I have good games in exchange.
Yes, though what I'm looking for is pretty limited, Sword of the Starts the pit dlc, Avadon 2,, 'papers, please', maybe etherlords 1 or 2 (need to check on those)

Frostyfirefly: W00t, made it to floor 6 in The Pit :)

trustymutsi: How IS that game? The reviews seem to complain about it being repetitive, and relies too much on luck.
It's fantastic. I bought it a few weeks ago and I've been playing at least one game every day. And saying a rogue game relies on luck is like saying the sky is blue.

In any case, some of my deaths were because of bad lucks but some of them were because I made a bad decision or forgot to watch my health points. I made it to the last level on easy on the same run that I discovered the last of the first 50 recipes. I did not survive the level though. I immediately moved to the normal difficulty level because I want to find the rest of the recipes more than I want to win. On Normal I normally die before reaching level 15.

I'm playing without the DLCs, I only plan to get them once I have all recipes as each DLC have new recipes.

In any case tastes varies, I don't like FTL and love The Pit.
Anyone intersted in trading Witcher 2 GOG key for Thief 1? I will send you the key first, so you can check, if the key is valid. Then you will buy me this game and both of us will be happy.

dedoporno: Man, what's up with you? This is at least the 3rd game you are asking for. I'm starting to regret I gave you Torment.

Coelocanth: I tend to make it a policy to not bestow games on people that ask for them (unless it's in the community gifting thread).
Well, I don't mind giving games away to someone who genuinely missed it for some reason, but some people are just sticking around to take advantage of all the kind people here just because it's for free. I don't like that one bit!
