Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Schemilix: Could you describe it? I'm interested. While I'm buying a tonne of vidya gaems I might as well go the whole hog.

Frostyfirefly: It's a rogue game, that is, it's a dungeon crawler that is about 50% luck 50% skill, you need to move through 30 floors. You get hungry, your weapons and armor break, some enemies are too strong and you have to flee.

The appeal lies in the obssession of getting to the end with all those odds against you. The character classes differ in that one of them will get hungry really fast, the other is physically pathetic and the other is sort of balanced but is pretty much screwed without ranged weapons.
I was after a game like this! What's the sale price?

Frostyfirefly: Wow, Sword of the Stars: The Pit is better than I thought; I'm playing in windowed mode, I've died 10 times already...and I love it.

Imagine a roguelike with a fallout slight fallout feel.

Ghorpm: TBH I'm a bit surprised that it takes so long for a 5-star game. It's not that high on the bestselling list so it cannot be said that "everybody owns it already"
There aren't that many bestsellers left on The List, so my guess is that most people have quit the sale by now. Not as much impulse buyers anymore.
So. While waiting for the Legac? of %eane to end, at least someone should get something, don't you think? How about some Thief 3?

Zeeaire: exactly this is the reason I recommend The Summoner to you..^^
well, I really suck at it just like at quick time events <.<

Schemilix: I'll have to dig it out from its hole. I have a shelf dedicated to PS2 games. But I just found out our XBOX 360 isn't, in fact, broken, so I may pick up Dark Souls to punish myself for living.
I'm just piling them up building a new tower of pisa...think you will enjoy that game even if it won't be punishing enough :P haha I wished I found that out one day, too. but my xbox 360 seems without any spark of life in it, at least it kills my cds :x

snip3rfire: This is outrageous, I'm flipping tables right now. Buy Soul Reaver! A better experience than life itself. 10/10
must... send... positive.. calm... thoughts...

SimpleUser: C'mon TET, buy everyone in the GOG offices a copy of Kain so we can get on with the next game!

At this rate I think we'll be here until Wednesday!
Why?, I want to play this game in Spanish (voices and text). And it's better in Dreamcast. (PC it's a psx port). So no, Square-Enix can keep your PC game "only in English". I prefer to play the best version, mostly it's the PC version, but not with this game.

P.D: Now I return to my Wii, Lufia and the fortress of Doom will not finish by yourself.
Has The Witcher 2 ran through yet?

On July 1st, GOG had a 75% off sale on all the Legacy of Kain games.... that's when I bought them... same price, but for all 4, which was nice... and you didn't have to wait hours for one to show up while another was selling. :(

That's why while I think this 'Insomnia Promo' was interesting, I prefer the normal sales, so you can just grab what you want all in one go, and be done with it. :)

Nope, still on.
One crappy PS, unworthy of His Holiness Keane. And yet it had to be done.

So, how are you lot? Doin' fine? :)

If you don't mind it being side scrolling, you might want to check out Rogue Legacy too. Randomly generated dungeons, perma-death, and each new character is a descendant of the previous one with good and bad characteristics, but with a humorous twist.
