Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

As it says in the screenshot, go first to your account page and from there when you mouse over your profile picture, the "change picture" option should pop up over it.

stevieknix: Yeah, but there are threads talking about using programs to make it compatible with controllers.

EX-Deimon: I know it can, but playing a PC game with a controller kinda defeats the purpose, really.
Wellll...

I own Skyrim on 360 and PC. I prefer the analogue controls on 360, but PC has mods. So many mods.

ReynardFox: What? No, not even slightly. Not every game is suited to keyboard and mouse, many action games that don't involve shooting can benefit greatly from using a controller.
Then i'd just play them on my console, to be honest. This is the main reason why i've not bought State of Decay yet. Even though it has been fully released, they've still not added keyboard and mouse support. They've been given a lot of stick for that.

I like Raziel's design and I love crazy revenge-driven characters shamelessly (Gabranth, Vyce Bozeck, Caim).

Oh god, Drakengard. That game was so fucked.
Anyone have the release order after Leisure Suit Larry?

thorton70: Maybe people forget or were not with us in the trenches during the Rise of Lord Keane. Prior to him people came and went, relatively quickly. Merry gatherings were happening, we were all joking and laughing and drinking as we watched Game after game whip by at lightning speed. Like kids opening our presents we waited for the next game with a sense of delight and anticipation.

This ended with Keane. When he raised his ugly head we all too quickly realised the dark potential of this activity. GOG had thrown something at us that would try to break us and after a beautiful first round of games appearing in quantities of 500-2000 and taking mere moments to sell out, Keane showed us that not all games were created equal. And with 100 copies Keane shut the sale down, bringing with it a revelation that the sale truly would be an Insomniac sale.

Game since then have taken a while yes, but it is due to the tiredness of the game, having sold 2, 3, 4000 copies already. Never again will a game pop up with such a small offering in the midst of a spending spree by nostalgic fuelled gamers and destroy any good cheer that had come before it as Keane did.
Well spoken...

Cardian: As has been thoroughly discussed before, there are too many factors to consider. Selling 600 copies in 8 hours (RCR) is nothing compared to 100 copies in 5 hours (Keane), but also price, round of sale, saturation and even time need to be considered. Therefore, The Prime Keaning shall always be the example to be referenced.

Thorton70 is a Keane veteran! He remembers - show him some respect, because he was there!

UNITE GAMERS AND WE CAN OVERTURN THE POISON THAT IS LEGACY OF KAIN!!

Defeat this hideous beast, oh so, so hideous...
Does anybody still have a key for Nexus: The Jupiter Incident or Aquanox 2 that he's willing to trade for an upcoming game?

don2712: Thinking of picking up Brutal Legend but, I understand part of it is rts which I am crap at, anyone played this game like to comment or advise me?
I played the first half hour or so, which has been mostly in-game live tutorial of how to play with low risk of dying. Essentially random button smashing that kills everything. :) The game is kind of cool just because of Jack Black and his well known goofy rock'n'roll/metal guy thing, plus the lineup of cameos from well known rockers, etc. It's very consolish, but I'm enjoying it so far just due to the personality and humourous elements etc.

It's just been slaying shit with an axe and a guitar, plus driving around in a speedster a bit so far, not sure what happens later on though. :)

Indeed! Mods....beautiful mods! I remember modding the hell out of Oblivion. Made the game so much better. Funny, I used to dislike Oblivion way back then....now i like it more, mainly due to the mods :D
- And yep, the 360 controller is actually really good. Surprisingly plays well with FPS games, especially Halo.

dedoporno: As far as I remember the most important plot lines were resolved, so this shouldn't be that big of a problem.
