Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

dedoporno: It is not RTS (you mean real-time strategy, right?). It's more of a action adventure. I got it from a Humblebundle, but still haven't got the chance to play it more than 30 minutes.

Cardian: It actually pulls a Monty Python and turns into an RTS later on. And now for something completely different.
As a fellow member said some undetermined time ago (I lost all perspective of time by now) - you learn something new every day.
Soul Reaver is truly a work of art. The music and voice acting are superb. The level design is amazing and the combat is inspired. This is an absolute must play for every PC gamer out there, and a steal at this price. 10/10

Stooner: Soul Reaver. Amazing game.
Yeah! One of the best games (of his kind) that I have played.

Should be a must buy at 1 and a half dollars, for any person that didnt play it at that time.

Frostyfirefly: Still looking for a code of Thief 3, Theme Hospital or Spellforce for a friend, if you have one to spare, please let me know.
I have an extra Theme Hospital

Alien8n: Ah dammit. If anyone wants to be especially nice pick up a copy of Thief Gold for me. I'll paypal it across when I get back (unless Thief Gold still hasn't shown in the next 3 hours).

Right off to a job interview, see you in about 3 hours :)
Good luck!

All the best!

Chandoraa: Kind of unfair that Keane is taking all the heat when there were several other notorious stallers around. I'm looking at you, Hotline Miami ¬¬. I'll still stick to keaning around, since it's fun XD.
avatar
skeletonbow: You bring up an excellent point too. :) One game yesterday stalled the sale for 7 hours if I'm not mistaken. I can't remember what it was, and don't think anyone turned it into a meme either. ;)
As has been thoroughly discussed before, there are too many factors to consider. Selling 600 copies in 8 hours (RCR) is nothing compared to 100 copies in 5 hours (Keane), but also price, round of sale, saturation and even time need to be considered. Therefore, The Prime Keaning shall always be the example to be referenced.

don2712: I'm just going by the reviews of the game on GOG where some people are claiming that the last part is rts
When I say I watched someone play it, just to be clear, it was my roommate, not just watching a gameplay video...

However, I would suggest watching gameplay videos of any game you are interested in buying, it can be really helpful. There are tons of Let's Play videos on youtube as well. :)

YaTEdiGo: Hey people we should start to popularize the term "Keaned" to say you are stuck on the internet seeing some progress bar.

WE SHOULD MEME IT!!!!!

foxworks: Maybe you should trademark it first ;) Sell T shirts, coffee mugs...haha

Banderas anxiously waiting for a Bioware RPG and gets Keane instead.
I absolutely loved Soul Reaver... when I played it on the Playstation. I once tried it on PC and disliked it because the PC version only supports eight directions of movement compared to the PS1's 360. It made movement more frustrating, especially if you want to quickly jump off at a particular angle but now you have to first rotate like a turret. Any chance this is fixed?

Had no choice but to go to sleep last night so I wouldn't pass out at work today, caught I HAve No Mouth before dozing off thankfully, and happy to see I haven't missed Thief 1 & 2. Now to stare at progress bars for work and for games.

It's insidious how the game was marketed, the original Xbox 360 demo is the first area of the game and the first boss, it gives no indication it's anything but a hack & slash. It ropes you in, and then dashes your hopes quite brilliantly.

Especially if you're like me and cannot stand strategy games.
