Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

mieiri: went for a 3 days trip and just turned the pc on. STILL GOING ON??

Travanoid: Look, everyone! Reinforcements have arrived!
Oh man, everyone still here should be great Night Watch material.
We are the shield that protect man.
avatar
clcaztx: Me too. There's just something rather wonderful about sneaking...
avatar
Cardian: I also don't like going all warrior/action-style if I have a choice because there are so many games out there where I can have just that.
Exactly. I have high expectation for the new Thief release. I hope it will at least compare to its predecessors.
DAMN PAYPAL. Why do you keep declining my card!
avatar
Cardian: In any game where stealth is an option, I usually go that route. Like Deus Ex or even Quest for Glory.
avatar
CorranHorn: Deus Ex on realistic is very rewarding, playing it without killing anyone was very hard but worth it=).
Taking down a man in black using nothing but your cattle prod can be tiresome though and chasing around gunther, to see if you can take him down without killing him, is the ultimate time waster.
And to think that I'd have missed out on Thief 3 if I didn't suddenly wake up of thirst. Not the ideal time to sell the game for me, but whatever.

Ah but who will be Carrot?

Because you've spent all your money on the rest of the sale.

Too many small purchases.
avatar
clcaztx: Not moving as fast as I thought it would.
avatar
dedoporno: In a while you'll see that it apparently moved lightning fast when some people start crying on how they just missed it and wanted it so bad :)
Ha! Human nature, I suppose.

I have only done three.

I think it's more than likely less Paypal declining your card, and your bank having put a block on it.
If you ring them (your bank) they'd sort that out for you.

Could be wrong of course though, but that's the more likely situation unless you have an obscure card or weird address situation.

Blazz17: Little

Minmataro: well Dishonored is basically a thief game.
Never played the old thief games myself. Played Dishonored and quite enjoyed sneaking around (helluva better game than Skyrim imho - despite being in two different genres)

I actually barricaded the door with furniture and killed the two MIB's that wanted my brother. It broke the game, though, so I had to reload. P

Cardian: Oh, better don't get me started on movies.... but since I don't watch German dubs anymore, it got waaaay better. Some translations are just... I guess horrendous is the word I'm looking for.
Same here. Movies, series, games, books - if I can I consume stuff in the original language. Revisiting movies I knew long before my English was good enough is an interesting experience. Like with "Once upon a Time in the West" aka "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" - the German title is based on a line from a central scene in the movie, and after watching the original I learned that that line was pretty much completely made up and had nothing to do with what was said in the original scene. Big WTF moment for me...

Also the trend of replacing the original english title with a new english title for the release here is compleeeeete BS. (-_-)'
Well, I was hoping for Thief 3 since it was the only Thief I hadn't picked up and lo and behold I wake up in time to see LSL drop to 1 and switch over and I hadn't even gotten out of bed. That just made my day.
