Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

I could of sworn I heard someone chant the following not too long ago:

"Mantorok Keane Pargon Pargon Pargon Xel'lotath Keane Pargon"

Think that had anything to do with the slowdown on sales?

Shendue: How long do you think it will take for Theme Hospital to be sold? Half an hour maybe?
Well, still a 1/3 to go, I'd guess closer to 40 minutes, but would hope that you are correct.
Since i am very interested in a response i am shamlessly bumping myself:

Stoltverd: HEEEEEEY

BG2EE came up few days ago...
So i have to ask the inevitable question...
What do you guys think? Is the EE collection worth it? or do you still prefer the old collection? (i personally have both)
Don't think price wise, lets pretend they both are priced the same.
So? EE collection or original collection?

The time now (here) is 05:16 and the copies remaining unsold are 523.
My guess is anything from 2-6 hours.

Seems alot? of people say just go with the Classic and MOD it. EE least with BG1 is buggy. Only issues Ive had sofar is movies stuttering (and now after the patch 1.2.0 videos are even more messed up) had some issues getting The Black Pits working. BUT other then that Its not bad.

Ide say if u can pick it up 5$ (what I paid) then snag it.

deathmyrk: Wow! Theme Hospital is crazy fun, and all I did was make the GP office. Though, I set the patient chairs behind the doctor's desk, but whatever. This game looks very inventive for its time.
Bullfrog games were like that. Oh, how I miss good old Bullfrog... (T-T)

If you liked Theme Hospital, be sure to try Dungeon Keeper (on sale here on GOG with their PC+Mac Mix Max Weekend Promo) and its sequel, Dungeon Keeper 2; Syndicate (also on Mac Mix Max) and the sequel; and Populous (any of them in the series). Each of these games is available on GOG.

About ten minutes ago it was still selling 20 copies per minute, but now that's dropped down to about 6 cpm...which leaves about 90 mins left. So I'd say between 75-90 mins, if it doesn't slow down.
I would probably buy 10 of these to giveaway, however making one game purchase at a time forces me not too.
If only I could add 10 to my cart.

I don't know if it has any meaningful worthwhile changes other than graphics, but from the screenshots, it looks both good and tiny. I don't like tiny graphics.
Does anyone know? Has NNW passed?

trustymutsi: Apparently the Thief pack was $3.79 in a recent GMG sale. Is there any other pro to the GOG versions that make them worth the extra few bucks? Does GOG make the games they offer more compatible/less bug-free?
If they are the GG versions - 1 & 2 are Steamworks, 3 is Securom. GOG includes the soundtrack for all 3 and drm free.

GhostwriterDoF: I like to believe that we have actually living memories in our DNA, that is where are instincts are derived. And possibly where people might relive some of those memories as past life experiences... :)
avatar
Schemilix: As a biology undergrad I must... respectfully disagree with that theory. Epigenetics do exist, though. A stressed mother can accrue enough changes in certain genes for that to impact the genetic expression of her child if that child is conceived after that, leading to the child being more prone to developing 'stress' in the biological sense of the word. In Rhesus monkeys at least.
How else would you account for learned traits, passed down through instincts, such as stalking in Wolves, or dogs spinning round before they lay down, when they have never lived in a place with high grasses?

As long as the drip, drip, drip continues maybe 1 to 2 hours.
