Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Daz12380: i think its fantastic one of the best shows ive ever watched
avatar
MGShogun: Glad to hear that. Please enjoy rest of the series. :)
i do intend to. thank you

Craig234: Battlestar is a series I loved while watching it, but liked a lot less afterwards.
avatar
gamingrn: I liked just about everything in that series (one of my favorites), up until the ending. Without spoiling it for anyone else, I thought it rang a little hollow.
Bit rushed, yeah. But I still dig it.

Better to have a closure than none.

Craig234: I am I nthe minority it seems, but I liked the first NWN story/campaign pretty much, what I played of it in Chapter 1 anyway.
That still leaves a lot of chapters to go downhill. It's definitely a mediocre campaign, but I personally didn't mind it (hell, I've played through it 4 or 5 times). But some of the community made modules really put it to shame, and the official expansions are far better as well.

mondo84: Is it me or has this thread led to some very nice bonding among GOG users?

It's like we've all experienced something together, and we feel closer to one another. :)
I was just talking via PM to someone exactly on that topic. My theory is it's a form of Stockholm syndrome. We've all been through the "trauma" of this Insomnia Promo and have bonded together in the face of adversity, as well as found a new love for our captors, the GOGers.

nijuu: whats on the menu ? :D

Briareos262: toast with butter =P I'm poor......not just cause of the sales, tho I did get a few games, hehehe.

Yeah i just found out i blew my budget a bit.....LOL

nijuu: Definitely .Just a shame there isn't a chatting function (yeah i know the unofficial irc chatroom but thats pretty much dead at the moment)
It's funny; yesterday I was on the Groupees site asking about a bundled game on the chat over there...and they were all GOGgers talking about the sale! ^_^

Devoidless: So, anyone else here play VTM:B? Rhetorical question, of course you do. Right? Right?

Good.

Now that we've established that we all play it and agree that it's one of the best games ever made (it was in the fine print), how do we like to play it?
Prefer the Malks with their odd ability to see the truth through all the bull?
The Ventrue that shmoozes through life?

Maybe you like to get up close and snap some necks. Maybe you like taking them out from far away with shooty-bangs.
I'm glad you asked, sir! You must be quite the fine specimen of the human race to inquire about such. You are also, no doubt, virile and handsome as the gods of yore. You probably smell nice as well, to boot.

To answer! I love playing as the Malks. There is something about running around as a totally insane vampire with dark powers. What's even better than that? The same vampire running around with firearms. Dressed as a pimp.
Just sayin'.

Aww, I know what you mean: used to have to eat things like that for dinner, sometimes nothing, go without meals.. Some veggies would fill you up maybe, wish it was more appetising for you.
Ah damn, the promo tricked me into buying another game... but it looks fun.

Good point, and it certainly doesn't spoil the greatness of the show leading up to it.

Groupees is pretty good for chat. Goes dead between sales but serves a good purpose.

The first part I played was 'above average' IMO for an RPG.

We have to admit a lot RPG stories are less than very good.

EvilPie: Hey,everyone!

This guy's a toaster!

MGShogun: >.>

Uhhhhh.................... :P

You can't prove it! ^___________^
Darn, my detector is down.

Anyone have a nuclear warhead I can borrow?
avatar
Craig234: First of all, that's wrong.
<snip>
I'd prefer to see a single payer system, or at least a public option, but Republicans killed those choices.
Since this is not the place to argue with you nor educate you , I will simply point out three things:

1) You are talking to someone who used to work in Health Care, so I know the old system AND what Obamacare has done with it. I'm also on Medicare due to the economic downturn (thanks, Obama), so I know about that, as well.
2) Assuming you have signed up with the Exchange, have you seen your premiums gone up or down?
3) If you are not yet in the Exchange, watch what happens to your current plan over the next 6 months. If you are in the Exchange, wait until the rationing kicks in. Then we can try this chat, again.

Reminds me of my old Everquest days, lol.
