Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Battlestar is a series I loved while watching it, but liked a lot less afterwards.
I have a feeling Cognition is going to be the "Go to sleep and check back in 8 hours" game for tonight

Devoidless: So, anyone else here play VTM:B? Rhetorical question, of course you do. Right? Right?

Good.

Now that we've established that we all play it and agree that it's one of the best games ever made (it was in the fine print), how do we like to play it?
Prefer the Malks with their odd ability to see the truth through all the bull?
The Ventrue that shmoozes through life?

Maybe you like to get up close and snap some necks. Maybe you like taking them out from far away with shooty-bangs.
Years ago, on my 1st run-through - Toreador.
Mainly focused on conversations.
Surely didn't help, w/ the last 1/3rd was so combat-heavy.

I've tried numerous different replays - most unfinished, hehe.

My most recent attempt of playing the game - a crazy Malkavian, hehe.

EDIT:
Just checked some of my old saves folder that I have backed-up - I've finished the game also as a Tremere.

itchy01ca01: Random question:
Is there a widescreen/resolution patch for Alpha Centauri?
open Alpha Centauri.ini and add DirecDraw=0 under [Alpha Centauri]. This forces the game to run at desktop resolution.

Another way but I haven't tested it; open Alpha Centauri.ini and let say you want to run the game at 800x600 to do this you add under [Alpha Centauri] video mode=800

Velgor: Here's yet another random forum question....

Why is it when I post something the page refreshes to somewhere around 30-50 pages back in the thread and I have to click on the latest page to get back to where I was?
No idea, but it happens to many of us. I usually end up about 50 or 60 pages back as well.

trustymutsi: Well, I was able to get Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, and Neverwinter Nights 2.

1. Should I try and get the first Neverwinter, for the story?

Thanks for any feedback! :)

Aspenwood: NWN1 has a story? Ha!

That said, the second expansion was pretty good. First expansion was kinda meh.
I am I nthe minority it seems, but I liked the first NWN story/campaign pretty much, what I played of it in Chapter 1 anyway.

mondo84: Is it me or has this thread led to some very nice bonding among GOG users?

It's like we've all experienced something together, and we feel closer to one another. :)

I liked just about everything in that series (one of my favorites), up until the ending. Without spoiling it for anyone else, I thought it rang a little hollow.

MGShogun: How are you liking it so far?

Daz12380: i think its fantastic one of the best shows ive ever watched
Glad to hear that. Please enjoy rest of the series. :)
