Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Velgor: If a game is on your shelf, you can not trade it. It's yours. If you see it on your shelf, there's no way anyone else can use it. The only way you can trade a game is if you have a gift key.

To get a gift code, check the box to gift the item and then just use the same email address you used to set up your GOG account. That will send the gift code to your account and it'll show up in a nice listing.

Dajjer: ahhh haaa

so you just gift it to yourself and then just resend it to some one else somewhere down the line.

Thanks, live and learn.
Wish I'd known that too. That way you can hold em in reserve just in case, and redeem the codes yourself if and when you want to play them.

Daz12380: what is your favorite batman arkham game?
I've gotta go with Asylum, I enjoy it's more focused nature and more manageable riddler challenge even if the game comes off a bit short. First game I played that really felt like a Batman game, love it still.

Khalaq: High price, and most people already own at least one copy. Trying to sell an old game for $20 after it's been on sale for $5 multiple times is a difficult thing to do.
avatar
Devoidless: But...but...it is $5.
So is a deli sammich, I shall keep this $5 for lunch tomorrow.
avatar
Craig234: Not sure, but only if you contact customer service and they change it to gift.
avatar
Buenro-games: No. If you don't ask for a gift code, then it's not tradeable.
If customer service would change it to a gift, when it hasn't been dlownloadable, it would be.

Question is whether they would.

Daz12380: what is your favorite batman arkham game?
So far its Batman Arkham City because of the great story and the amazing ending not to mention everything was improved upon from Arkham Asylum which was also fantastic. Haven't played Arkham Origins yet.
Damn, tiredness wins again... what did I miss after Postal?

In this insomniac sale newer (in terms of GoG standards) games tend to sell in a much slower pace compared to classics especially in their encore run.

KMJX: Damn, tiredness wins again... what did I miss after Postal?
Absolutely nothing.

Velgor: *snip*
I got a copy in a Steam sale years ago. It was glitchy, laggy, and prone to crashing. It also seemed to really require a controller to be playable. I don't have one and all the other issues pretty much turned me off and I uninstalled it.
avatar
Devoidless: Talking about laggy PC messes, anyone else have Dragon Age: Origins- Ultimate Edition? If so, does it run really poorly for you as well? I'm hard pressed to get over 20 FPS in the starting areas, and it doesn't really get better after that.
I do, but it runs just fine for me. :F

I realize this. Unless I read his post wrong, he was saying that the game was $20.

GhostwriterDoF: I got Arkham City GOTY, man that game has tens of thousands of things that are all over the place... :o
as much as i love that game i preferred arkham asylum just because i felt it had more atmosphere . i played them both when they came out then straight after each about a year later. and i still fell the same way.

Bah... so frustrated, fell asleep and it appears I've missed out on Baldur's Gate!

Hoping Jade Empire, the Thief games, and Tropico 3 shows up soon.
I had a 3 hour exam. When I left it was Lucius. What did I miss?
