Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

nijuu: I had a look at a lets play of it today... and i dont think its my kind of game.i like exploring but this game takes it to nth degree....

64 AC1 to go

golea: I'm not to keen on it either, but it's indie an relativelly new. The last indies didn't do to well.
I think you missed a 'keane' opportunity there, ;)

Dajjer: After 3 days I had to leave in the morning to do something and when I came back both games I was waiting for came and went. That being Age of Wonders and Planescape. I'm not real bummed about Planescape cuz I have two hard copies. But I am really bummed about Age of Wonders. Well, after six hours, I finally stopped pouting and now I'm back in the game. Man, that hurt.

Craig234: You can always try trading for it.

Not sure if I have a copy, the only think I know I want is Sword of the Stars the pit dlc.
Is it possible to trade a game in your queue - if you have never downloaded it yet?
avatar
Craig234: What's the difference in 'AC Director's Cut' here and the 'AC' I have on Steam?
avatar
dsross: This one takes longer to sell.
So no one has a helpful answer?

THe game should answer that.

GhostwriterDoF: I didn't have any technical issues with that game, though I have the physical copy of DA O Ultimate.

Ran it with Win7 64bit, on GTX 450 Geforce Nvidia card.
avatar
Devoidless: I'm thinking part of the issue might be running it from a digital version and just really crappy optimization. I can run other games that are a lot more demanding no problem on high settings, but DA:O-UE just tanks so hard. That game never took issues with dual/muti-cores, did it?
If I remember rightly, it did have problems with multi-cores when it was released. I thought they took care of that with patches, though?

Velgor: *snip*
I got a copy in a Steam sale years ago. It was glitchy, laggy, and prone to crashing. It also seemed to really require a controller to be playable. I don't have one and all the other issues pretty much turned me off and I uninstalled it.
avatar
Devoidless: Talking about laggy PC messes, anyone else have Dragon Age: Origins- Ultimate Edition? If so, does it run really poorly for you as well? I'm hard pressed to get over 20 FPS in the starting areas, and it doesn't really get better after that.
It does lag pretty bad in the some of the loading screens. Especially in the city areas. Known issue on slower systems I think.
avatar
Buenro-games: Shouldn't do that. My computer is not really that good and I don't lag on that at all (haven't played it in over a year). Must be some issue with the installation or your directx drivers or something. Definitely should not lag. Also, check on options and reduce some of the aliasing, shadows etc to see if that helps.
avatar
Devoidless: If I take all the options down to lowest, I might be able to eke out 5 more FPS. It's the only 'older' game I have issues with.
You are better off checking in the forum sections where the game is at, since I am sure it must be a really minor problem. Specially!, if it's the only game you have issues with. Good luck.

Not sure, but only if you contact customer service and they change it to gift.

You cannot trade games that are in your library.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Do you have DirectX9 installed on your system?
avatar
Devoidless: I have whatever is the most recent? 12 is it? I honestly don't recall if I tried messing the with DX version. I think I did though.
It helps with most older games to have DX9 installed, since many of the older games rely on the libraries.

You can install it with DX10, 11, DX11 being the latest I think. Some of the libraries in DX9 are not present in DX10,11. I don't know if that will help with DA O Ultimate, but it will with other games. Try it and see if it helps get rid of some of those issues you're having, or even help improve the FPS counts...

I know. I was just trying to find something to chat about while ACDC takes it's ever loving time to sell out. It's being a real ballbreaker.
