Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Daz12380: this promo is great training for the superbowl since over here it dosent finnish till between 4-5am i always fall to sleep
That's brutal, I have a hard time making through the Monday and Thursday night games that start around 8:30 PM here!

Velgor: *snip*
I got a copy in a Steam sale years ago. It was glitchy, laggy, and prone to crashing. It also seemed to really require a controller to be playable. I don't have one and all the other issues pretty much turned me off and I uninstalled it.
Talking about laggy PC messes, anyone else have Dragon Age: Origins- Ultimate Edition? If so, does it run really poorly for you as well? I'm hard pressed to get over 20 FPS in the starting areas, and it doesn't really get better after that.

merow: I think its because part 1 wasnt the best was on sale on other sites 100 times and cheaper.
or maybe because 'director's cut' doesn't say what is there that wasn't in the original release. If there was maybe 4 more longer chapters, areas to explore, and a dozen other things, maybe I would get it without question. It doesn't really say, feels like Disney with 'let's re-release the little mermaid again and call it the Silver edition! We added 10 seconds of content!'.

moonshineshadow: There is the + button where you can rate the post, at the right top corner of a post.
Oh, ok. Yea, probably didn't notice that because I am seeing red, yellow, and green leaves from staring at the sales screen so long. Is there such a thing as eye ghosting? I know there's cataracts, but no, I see leaves...
This sale has taken its troll on me. That's not a typo.

Briareos262: Thanks to everyone that responded about the PC version of AC directors cut differences ! ^_^

MysterD: YW.

I also edition/added into to my post about the numerous editions of AC2, as well:
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/special_promo_fall_insomnia_promo/post27647
Thanks alot. Yeah its a good series however just running through everything again seems a bit painful after 1000/1000 achievey on the xbox version. I did have fun even though some of it was a chore =P And I hate freakin hate time based missions >_<

Other than those complaints it is quite an awesome series with a great story and stealth play mechanics and wonderful open world tho bit limited....in the first one at least. I have yet to get around to playing the others >_>

Faeja_Vu: It really is a fun and inventive series. It's my second favorite game/series. I would suspect that at least part of the reason it isn't selling is due to people already owning it. Like myself, I have a physical copy that I've had forever. With the new AC's coming out it wouldn't be a surprise that plenty of people who would have been interested would have already gotten a copy at some point prior to this sale. But that's just my take on it. :)

I own every AC game released so far, and I am planning to get AC4. I've never had an issue with crashes or any of the other issues you mentioned. I have had a small handful of times where my net made it so I couldn't play (damn that Ubisoft DRM), but otherwise they've all run just fine for me. And like all my games, I played them with my mouse and keyboard just fine.

CarrionCrow: Oh, for crying out loud. After all the people I've had trying to convince me of how awesome this series is, it can't even sell a little over a hundred more copies? Talk about sucky! (Yes, I know that statement is incredibly simplistic and a bit inflammatory, but for the moment I intend to latch it onto my own preexisting sentiments that those who tried telling me how great it is were blowing smoke up my ass with such ferocity I almost contracted intestinal cancer)
I wouldn't pay 5$ for Might and Magic 1, but that doesn't make the series bad.
Also, it's one of the best selling series ever in the history of videogames, so the point doesn't really make any sense, as there are already actual sales numbers to prove that it's popular.
As for other games from this promo, everybody and their mothers probably already played it.

I'm a bit concerned about Miasmata now. It has been everywhere this summer.

I didn't have any technical issues with that game, though I have the physical copy of DA O Ultimate.

Ran it with Win7 64bit, on GTX 450 Geforce Nvidia card.

AC is putting me to sleep. Maybe this can be the thing that revives me for an extra couple of hours assuming the Chiefs D doesnt' turn it into a grindfest bore. *crosses fingers*

I'm actually interested in that game, but my budget is limited to only 4 more games now as i've already bought a couple of others already.

If those ten seconds don't contain at LEAST five hundred newly drawn and barely concealed penises? Then it's not up to Disney standards and should be cancelled.

Daz12380: <snip snip>
mine had black lines strentching all over the screen if scamara was poining at certain angles
Yeah, I had those lines, as well as parts of the UI and game world not loading in. So yeah...not fun. Add that need for a controller and I was done with it.
