Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

llflawedll: AC didn't cut it for me. Bored me half to death. Visually stimulating, but basically eye candy. Core gameplay lacking. Have more enemies playing dragon warrior 1 or thief. Story line good enough, but not motivating enough to finish. Got story from reading wikipedia and watching youtube videos. 15-30 more hours to my life yipee depending. YAY!

GhostwriterDoF: Thief has that many enemies? How is the combat in the Thief games?
The idea behind Thief is for people to not even know you're there. The successful thief leaves no trace, or at a bare minimum, takes no lives. Fighting usually leads to a quick death in the Thief games.

Of course, that didn't stop my friend from playing the game Rambo style. He killed every guard or monster in every level of the game. P

CarrionCrow: Oh, for crying out loud. After all the people I've had trying to convince me of how awesome this series is, it can't even sell a little over a hundred more copies? Talk about sucky! (Yes, I know that statement is incredibly simplistic and a bit inflammatory, but for the moment I intend to latch it onto my own preexisting sentiments that those who tried telling me how great it is were blowing smoke up my ass with such ferocity I almost contracted intestinal cancer)
It really is a fun and inventive series. It's my second favorite game/series. I would suspect that at least part of the reason it isn't selling is due to people already owning it. Like myself, I have a physical copy that I've had forever. With the new AC's coming out it wouldn't be a surprise that plenty of people who would have been interested would have already gotten a copy at some point prior to this sale. But that's just my take on it. :)

AC II is great not AC:DC,which is just good but worth it if you want to get into this series. Since its the oldest one most people have already played it.
I don't expect AC1 to be this slow.
Hmm.. AC1 made me think about Jade Raymond.

If I thought I'd be playing this game any time soon I might pick it up; However I got it for the 360 and I can just feel in my gut I won't be touching it again for a long time.

I think its because part 1 wasnt the best was on sale on other sites 100 times and cheaper.

Devoidless: From what I recall, there are a decent amount of enemies but combat isn't really encouraged. Also, actual combat is pretty bland and consists mostly of dieing.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Mostly dying... erm.. well... heh! Sounds like Dark Souls...

I got a copy of AC1 in a Steam sale years ago. It was glitchy, laggy, and prone to crashing. It also seemed to really require a controller to be playable. I don't have one and all the other issues pretty much turned me off and I uninstalled it.
