Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

jpacer: Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem to say on the Assassin's Creed page.....

.... What, exactly, makes this "Director's Cut?" Are there new missions?

I have the Assassin's Creed I & II "Ultimate Collection" on disk. Is this the same thing?
AC1: DC is only version on the PC.

It has more mission types:

This version featured four PC-exclusive memories, including the Rooftop Race Challenge, the Archer Stealth Assassination Challenge, Merchant Stand Destruction and Informant Escort Challenge.
EDIT:
About AC2, go down a bit on the page for "Editions" section to see what editions of it have what:

llflawedll: AC didn't cut it for me. Bored me half to death. Visually stimulating, but basically eye candy. Core gameplay lacking. Have more enemies playing dragon warrior 1 or thief. Story line good enough, but not motivating enough to finish. Got story from reading wikipedia and watching youtube videos. 15-30 more hours to my life yipee depending. YAY!

GhostwriterDoF: Thief has that many enemies? How is the combat in the Thief games?
Don't remember. My mistake if you feel I made a bad reference. I might of, you know memory banks don't always function lol :0.....
The remaining 100 will be painful.
All right, folks, AC:DC is taking waaay too long, so I'm officially calling it quits.
If someone is up and kind enough to grab Never Winter Nights 1 for me, I have extra keys for Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment. I also have some decent Steam keys (the best is probably Darksiders), so we can work out a trade.
Please PM me.

And if NWN is the next one after AD:DC, I'm gonna be soooo pissed!

It's been fun, guys! Sleep tight!
I hope the GOGers don't over-react to the AC stalling and under cut the number of copies for games like Jade Empire, which I just happen to be waiting for as the last on my list....

Devoidless: From what I recall, there are a decent amount of enemies but combat isn't really encouraged. Also, actual combat is pretty bland and consists mostly of dieing.

Buenro-games: You are a thief not a ninja, so combat should be avoided. :P
Well, that is what I was trying to get at. Shhh. This sale has taken its tole on me.
So if you already own a game you can't give it away without someone's email?

As it has on all of us.

On that note, how many of you are gonna go into a week long coma once this sale finally ends?

MysterD:
That seems like really a pain in the a$$ then. I'll just stick with my console version. Thanks!

Doubtful.
I thought my internet connection had dropped out. I kind of expected this one to move much quicker. Oh well, the ides of Keane are once again upon us.
Oh, for crying out loud. After all the people I've had trying to convince me of how awesome this series is, it can't even sell a little over a hundred more copies? Talk about sucky! (Yes, I know that statement is incredibly simplistic and a bit inflammatory, but for the moment I intend to latch it onto my own preexisting sentiments that those who tried telling me how great it is were blowing smoke up my ass with such ferocity I almost contracted intestinal cancer)

Agreed, it would be nice if they would cap all but the "big" remaining titles at around 300-400 copies, less for the lesser known or more expensive ones.

Send the email to yourself, then the code appears in your "Gifts" tab.
