Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

TheJadedOne: FYI, I am not affiliated with the Tea Party. Parties are for dumb-asses. Thoughtful, responsible people try to understand how the world really works. (If you don't really understand how it works, then you have no real chance of making it work better.) They try to understand the nature of people, economics, and morality, among other things. When voting they actually use the "Thomas" system to look up the records of politicians and see how they actually vote, not just what they say. They probably also use a site like opensecrets.org to see who is funding a given politician. What they don't do is just blindly forfeit their votes to a party so the party (or to be more specific, the party leadership) can do whatever it wants with those votes. If you bothered to actually comprehend my posts, you'd notice I have stated that unnecessary centralization of power is bad because it makes corruption easier. Avoiding such unnecessary centralization starts with people thinking for themselves, and not just buying hook-line-and-sinker any party's line.
One of my favorite lyrics to quote in regard to the US political psyche comes from the 80's band Devo:

Freedom of Choice, is what you have.
Freedom From Choice, is what you want.

GhostwriterDoF: The one thing I really liked about AC 1 was that you were supposed to avoid killing everything in sight and felt more stealthy then the later games, which are slaughter fests. All of them are repetitive in their own way.

Plus the main characters' storyline AC 1 was interesting enough for me to play-through to the finish a couple times...

Alien8n: Worst thing for me was all the damn flags...

And then all the damn feathers in the later games...
Those are both fair points, I guess it just didn't quite work for me, but I hope it will for about 150 other people out there
: )

Enough, already. Those you are trying to convince cannot comprehend your position, and those who can comprehend it are bored by the repetition. Save your breath.

gamingrn: Always thought AC was a pretty game that has a huge impact on you for the first 3 or 4 jobs and then gets a little stale unless you're really into it. That said, at such a discount, it's worth checking out for at least those 3-4 jobs, give it a chance people.

stinusmeret: I have a friend who loves the series so I decided to finally check it out to see why she loves it so much.
Granted AC1 isn't that good a game according to her but I figured I best start from the very beginning :P
If getting into the AC series then yes, definitely start with AC1. It's one of the few games where you really do get the most from it by playing them in order

In the PC version I don't the flags mattered, opened up anything. I used them as a way point, since the game saved every time we pick one up. heh

AC didn't cut it for me. Bored me half to death. Visually stimulating, but basically eye candy. Core gameplay lacking. Have more enemies playing dragon warrior 1 or thief. Story line good enough, but not motivating enough to finish. Got story from reading wikipedia and watching youtube videos. 15-30 more hours to my life yipee depending. YAY!
Random forum related question....

How do I change the line under my forum name? "New User" is a bit drab...
Someone should make a t-shirt with this image, or at least this idea, and sell 100 copies with a counter lol

Pretty much the only up to date one. 102+ games. 3 rounds. This is the final round
Thanks!
Looks like I missed quite a few that would've been nice to pick up.
Oh well, Xmas is just around the corner
Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem to say on the Assassin's Creed page.....

.... What, exactly, makes this "Director's Cut?" Are there new missions?

I have the Assassin's Creed I & II "Ultimate Collection" on disk. Is this the same thing?
