Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

HaydenRead: I really thought Assassins Creed would sell faster than it is.
It's right at the end of the sale, Sunday night/Monday morning and people are either broke or sleeping already I suppose. AC is my fav series from the recent times (call me a blasphemer if you like, but I just enjoy climbing all these high top places and diving into ... whatever level designers decided to put in there). I wish I could have it on GOG too, but I am broke, sadly. I totally recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind riding sometimes endless hours between missions (which luckily is a problem mostly in AC1), but is fond of romantic art and likes super-epic hidden blades and stealth action-adventures.

Alien8n: My cat is so stupid. The other day she tried to eat my leftover singapore noodles (way hotter than they normally do them) and today she's eating thai prawn crackers that I've just made :)

Buenro-games: I wouldn't call her stupid, maybe ?hungry?. Do you feed that poor thing?
There's always food down, surprised she's not fat to be honest. She's getting extra food as well for the kittens but they'll be fully weaned off by next weekend

SpiderFighter: I'm not involved in that discussion, but I find them pretty easy to recognize and skip.

Devoidless: On the forums I moderate, we have an entire section to just politics and such. I used to visit them years ago, but nowadays any 'conversation' in there is just as bad as the politics you see on television.
Agreed. That's why I don't bother reading them. ;) Although it is kinda fun sometimes; you can often guess what someone's main news source is by reading their posts.

foxworks: Sorry, Pabluzcu snagged it
All good +1 still :P

MGShogun: Oh noe. :(

All I want are Jade Empire and NWN 1 then I can rest peacefully.

God, this sale is so addictive.

kcrabb: Thats exactly what I've been waiting for! Checking every 5-10 hoping that the game changed to one of those to. :(
Let's cheer for each other on, shall we?

Gotta stay positive! :DDD

Devoidless: That's amusing. Just noticed that the full abbreviation for the current game is ACDC. Not the one I listened to when I was young, but still.
avatar
sneakyraccoon: Wait, you mean you no longer listen to AC/DC?
Every once in a while I give the records a spin. Nowadays, I'm more into the industrial/electronic/whatever other genres they are.
How long is the main storyline in AC1 ?

Xiko91: Ok last try. Is there a spare BG2 copy in here? :(
ah you should have been on here a couple hours ago checking. There were like 7 people giving away that game

Indubitably.... yet, we must find something to do when the sale slows down. ;)

nijuu: How long is the main storyline in AC1 ?
Not too long, I think around 12, 13 hours. But it's not that much of a story. It's basically "go there and kill this guy"
I really liked AC. I thought the details in the city were great, the mechanics of the game were pretty awesome too as well as the missions and the characters. The game was slightly more complex than your average game, I think, and it does have a 18plus rating (don't get why, really) but I really enjoyed it. Probably people didn't like the somewhat complex movement mechanics just how they bitched about the Witchers attack patterns. This is definitely a good game to own, play and have fun with. Really nice detailed characters and art. Standing a top the spires and looking around is wonderful.
Dang, looks like ACDC's 450 allotment was about 200 too much... :(
