Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Alien8n: My cat is so stupid. The other day she tried to eat my leftover singapore noodles (way hotter than they normally do them) and today she's eating thai prawn crackers that I've just made :)
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: A cultured cat? :D
Not really, whatever it is she's eating makes the litter tray look like a toxic waste dump. I swear it glows in the dark :p
Oh noe. :(

All I want are Jade Empire and NWN 1 then I can rest peacefully.

God, this sale is so addictive.

Dreadjaws: Would you cut it out with the political discussion? Probability says you're all wrong anyway.
avatar
SpiderFighter: I'm not involved in that discussion, but I find them pretty easy to recognize and skip.
On the forums I moderate, we have an entire section to just politics and such. I used to visit them years ago, but nowadays any 'conversation' in there is just as bad as the politics you see on television.

HaydenRead: I really thought Assassins Creed would sell faster than it is.
While I ain't played AC3 or AC4 yet...

...I think so far for me, AC1 was the worst game in the franchise. It's just...repetitive and cut & paste like crazy w/ NPC's, character models, and voice-acting. Didn't help that you often had to do a few sides before you could do a main mission, just to pad the game's length out.

AC2 improved most of my AC1 complaints.
ACB was surprisingly also great.

I wasn't super-fond of AC:R Gold - has a lot of "more of the same"; and I didn't like the new missions types (Tower Defense + the Portal-like 1st person puzzles). I liked it more than AC1, though.

Devoidless: That's amusing. Just noticed that the full abbreviation for the current game is ACDC. Not the one I listened to when I was young, but still.
Wait, you mean you no longer listen to AC/DC?
I think this might be it for me.

I already have thief 1 and 2 on Steam and i found out both are actually DRM free (pulled them out my steam folder and they launch without steam).

I have Thief 3 and would like it DRM free but its already installed on my PC with quite a few really awesome player mods.

I guess ill keep the sales window open but as for chatting on the forum im done.

It was nice talking too you guys. Enjoy the rest of the sale.

peanutsticks: uh oh. AC is starting to crawl at 250.

C'mon action aficionados. I thought this was the moment you were waiting for!?
I probably would have bought a copy if I didn't already own it... Though I will admit that the prospect of a DRM free AC is very enticing...

elite580: Dangit, Assassin's Creed is now Assassin's Keane...
Or maybe Keane's Creed? ;D

There is a part of me that like AC1 over all the others actually. One part I loved was the ability to kill anyone with no de-syncing after the game was completed. It was a nice little treat. :D

One thing I hate most is in AC3... QTE's... If anything is gonna make me scream at a game, it'll certainly be that.

My cat likes to eat plastic bags, candy wrappers, and even some of my clothing...

Pabluzcu: I guess Keane the allmighty is pleased with our colective sacriface so far and now it is the time of fast-selling stuff. We can only hope.
