Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Thunderscape bahhh, well just for nostalgia sake...
Carm 2 wasn't on the list :( If I knew that I would of bought Thief

TheEnigmaticT: Support has sworn out a blood feud against the marketing team for proposing this promo. They will not rest until our bones are cracked and the marrow spilled out for the worms to feast upon.

So about normal. ;)

Novotnus: But you are a man of your word - rare thing in the marketing business. We got a release, a promo and a dancing bear... well, almost dancing :)
I think I've just woken up everybody within 100 meter, I was laughing so hard :D
We already achieved 101 different games already offered?

ReynardFox: Ok, the fun momentum has gone, now it's just getting tedious, I need sleep if I'm to draw my Dust winners today...
Heaps of people missed out due to the time of the launch so some of us appreciate the repeats
Having said that, only a few on my wishlist was in the games being sold...

Please, finish this now, I need to go to bed very badly.

CorranHorn: Then you own it, just contact GoG if the game won´t show up on your game list.

ULTIMATEMALE420: I payed via PAYPAL. I have paypal reciept but not the gog.com recipt.

The reciept does not state the game name, just some weired bunch of letters. (Probably sum kinda code)
avatar
siddham: I was able to get to paypal and make a payment for a game and paypal sent the cash....but no sign of a confirmation from GOG or the game on my account.....?

Hope GOG will honor the payment!

TheEnigmaticT: If you have a receipt, you will get a game. Contact Support and they will make it right.

Nothing that new was going to end up here i'm afraid.
So now we have repeats, but oddly including a free game that was on offer but not free before... Does that mean that the offers will be repeated possibly multiple times and the freebies will continue being strewn among them, possibly until each of the 101 games will have a few free copies thrown it at some point (therefore also providing some sort of counter for when the promo will end)? :)
Or these are just "by popular demand", having sold before so fast that the rights holders quickly agreed to allow you to make these discounds for some more?

RayRay13000: I guess that's it (since I'm seeing more and more repeats). Guess I'll wait for Shadow Warrior (classic and 2013) to appear on sale during the Holidays. I'm out.
Not for me because I was at college all day, let the repeats continue, I heard the did I have no mouth game was on sale and I missed.
Thunderscape's guitar licks are awesome, but they do get a bit repetitive when you hear them halfway to finishing the game.
Is it me, or the info about deal get... delay? Oh well... Still too much traffic to get anything. Good luck guys on your crusade. :D
Welp, repeats and I bought about 10 games. Heh, kudos for GOG for such a brilliant tactic. I wonder if steam might run something like this concurrent to it's big holiday sale.

I'm happy this happened, I got a lot of games I've been looking at for dirt cheap. Lots of fun to be had.

Later.
GOG'll get some solid data regarding both their servers and the need on the market. That's for sure. And the sale *was* fun! Lots of people will want to keep an eye on their facebook et whatnot.

Got only two freebies thus far - Two Worlds and Spellforce. Tho I guess it could be worse. Actually, I'm pretty much surprised I was able to in the first place. I have a mediocre connection at best.

Also, bought quite a few. Many of the games I already own though...

Good luck to the ones who'll stand by the rest of the sale. As it's on repeat now, and the sales are pretty darn slow, I'll just head to bed.

Pretty awesome promo, it's just a shame that the technical end appears to be struggling.
