Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

merow: Hope it goes fast^^
For now it is, but I don't dare making predictions: Ultima: Underworld was going fast just before I fell asleep. Next day I was told it keaned like crazy.

ChocoboSlayer: I think I've spent some 60 to 65 dollars on this sale, but I still have to consider Wargame, King's Bounty: Crossworlds and Miasmata. Thing about KB:C is I already have a few of the other games in that series and haven't even played them yet, and with Miasmata, I am wondering if it will give me the same sort of feeling of reward that a roguelike would. I haven't played any *survival* games as such, other than Don't Starve, and I don't know if I *get* them. I like the feeling of progression that travel from one floor to the next in a roguelike offers. Maybe progressing through days in Don't Starve will work out something like that. Does Miasmata have anything like this going for it?

Knofbath: Crossworlds is basically an expansion pack that includes the Armored Princess base game.

King's Bounty: The Legend was the first game after 1C picked up the rights, and Warriors of the North is the newest game in the series.
Is Armored Princess any good?

gscotti: Question about Desura: do they use DRM, or are they more like GOG?
They have a client like Steam but all the games can be run without the client. It's just there to manage purchases and library etc. You can also download the standalone game files. It doesn't stop the actual games from having built in DRM though. But most of them dont have any.

Mostly Indie games.
i'd love geneforce too --- i really liked avadon

stinusmeret: I have a good feeling that after this we'll be getting Assassin's Creed, which would mean I get to finally sleep properly! :D
You trying to convince us or yourself? Don't set yourself up for a letdown. :D
Jack Keane's Alpha Centauri.

Go to bed everyone.

Got Alpha Centauri. Woot! Didn't know this but I had a PayPal credit. So, technically I got Geneforge and Age of Wonders, and most of Alpha Centauri for free. Sweet deal.

stan423321: Desura has no Steam CEG equivalent, but it doesn't care about somebody putting DRM'd title on it at all.
So what your're saying is, they themselves don't enforce any kind of DRM, right?
Possible keaners left? Keagnition? Maybe Expeditions: Keanquistador?
