Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

BillyMaysFan59: A reminder for everyone: If you're tired of the Fall Insomnia madness, there's still the Weekend Promo. You can get some classics like these for 75% off:

Syndicate
Sim City 2000
Star Control 1+2
Dungeon Keeper

nijuu: U forgot DivinE Divinity :D
I didn't want to include ALL the sale games in my post, I like keeping things short xD

My personal pick was Star Control 1+2, I know Ur Quan Masters is better, it's just a nice collector's item for like 2 1/2 bucks

wanderlust76: Well the path-finding is an issue with those large party D&D games you do have to admit that. Games like M&M do not have this problem of course. I'm not against party system RPG's I just think I would rather play with other people online or an MMO type deal.

shadowbaneaxe: Not sure what you mean. That party members sometimes take a very strange route to the place you're clicking and trigger a bunch of traps and manage to pull a bunch of monsters to you on the way?

That's more an issue of the game camera and terrain complexity as far as I can see. NWN1 didn't have these problems because the terrain was much more simple and straight forward and the camera was locked on your main character.
NPC's would still do silly things, in NWN - I'd tell them via the command wheel to stop/stand their ground, they'd run...run right into a trap. I'd give an order to attack - they'd stand still.

It did get better w/ more patches and expansions behind the series, though.

THE LIST

What's Left?!?

jackster79: Good evening all. Finally back, and much to my relief according this latest list I could find neither Assassin's Creed nor La Mulana went. Whew!

On the plus (or minus if a break was desired), Omerta time arrived. Just curious - how long was it up for grabs?
Something around 2 hours I think, but that's a very rough estimate. Anyway: it took long, but it did not break expectations, and GOG apparently slightly lowered the copy allotment this time.
Please be soon Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Ed... I just want to get some sleep now.

Pabluzcu: Great, I slept through Baldurs Gate, Icewindale, Planescape, Space Colony.... :(
but right now you could buy 60 copies of Postal 2
Hello,

Just wanted to say I've immensely enjoyed reading through this thread as I've followed the sales. Hadn't ever considered posting on these boards but kudos to the GOG community. Seems like a nice place to hang out.
How is King's Bounty? Worth $4.99?
It looks like some interesting conversation has gone on in my stead. From what I can piece together, these are the deals since Omerta:

Postal 2
Primordia
Icewind Dale 1
Lucius

Can someone please confirm?
high rated
To help it along. I already had it

I was wondering that too.

Ah, that's true. In BG, IWD and NWN2 you got enough options to either disable or tweak AI though. (I'd even go so far as to say that the SoZ NWN2 expansion added so many possible tweaks it became frustrating to go through them all for each party member :p)

Nope.
It's worth a lot more.
