Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Once again I have to zoom off, and once again my plea:

Thief 1
AC1 DC

If they show up send a copy my way and you can either have my spare Witcher 1 codes or we can work out a trade of some kind :)

Thanks in advance, from your beloved bunnie

kaszman1: Postals reputation comes only from crazy and brutal gameplay and constant media madness around the series, there is nothing more. No real story, crappy level design, chunky FPS mechanics, etc
Its nothing like Half Life, or Chaser for example.

Faeja_Vu: Yeah, but unfortunately the nostalgia bug suckered my into buying it quite a while back.. Honestly though, the "crazy and brutal gameplay" isn't even all that crazy and brutal anymore.. It's just ridiculous and as you said, clunky. I can't even enjoy the running around murdering all the random npc's anymore. :|
I tried the demo when it was released, some things where a bit funny but they quickly became old and then I saw how little this game had to offer me, even the first mission involved so much violence and I tried to keep it at a bare minimum. No Postal 2 is not a game I would recommend to anyone unless they want a really violent game with no story at all and meaningless reasons for going Postal.

Max Payene, now there is a game I would recommend to almost everyone=).
Engineer: "Capt'n, the Keanometer is SPIKING!"

Captain: "Red alert! All hands to battlestations!"

Navigator: "Captain, there appears to be a massive wall blocking our way."

Captain: "On screen."

Science Officer: "There appears to be writing on that wall, sir."

Captain: "Magnify"

Science Office: "Captain, if my historical knowledge is correct, we are looking at the box art for a "computer game" from the late 20th/ early 21st century. Specifically a game called.. Postal 2!"

Captain: "OH MY GOD! REVERSE COURSE. GET US OUT OF HERE!"

Navigator: "We can't, Sir. We're TRAPPED. A Keane-class Battlecruiser has just decloaked behind us!"

Captain: " We're all DOOOMED!!!!! GET TO THE LIFEBOATS! WE"RE ALL GOING TO DIEEEEEEEEEE"

TraderVic: Well, you yanks have everything way cheaper over there anyway. If you knew how much gas, alcohol, games and everything costs here, you'd get a stroke. :)

LeonardoCornejo: Want to talk about being screwed? Let's talk about Mexico, it is so awful you start to hate mankind.
Don't worry. We'll be with you shortly. The US is full is "socialist's paradise" dumb-asses (many of them simultaneously thinking they support "freedom" and enforced-at-gun-point ponzi-scheme promises called "social programs" that even via violent force can not ultimately be kept) that are hell-bent on basically turning the US into yet another country where hardly anyone can afford anything and the only ones who are allowed to do the actually running of businesses are incompetent/no-skin-in-the-game government bureaucrats and those who are politically-connected enough to keep said bureaucrats off their own backs (while watching in glee as those same bureaucrats kill off their competition, opening the way for the politically connected to raise their own prices and reap their politically-derived but completely undeserved rewards).

The US Republic is dead. (We're a "democracy" now don'tch-ya-know?) Individual sovereignty and inalienable rights died along with the Republic. The meaning of the plain words of the Constitution is now twisted beyond all recognition by all three branches of the federal government in order to supplant individual and state power with federal power, and even though this means the federal goverment is completely illegitimate (as their only authority to even exist comes from Constitution) the states (and for the most part the people) just stand by and do nothing to stop the leviathon. In the meantime voting has changed from something originally reserved for those with skin in the game and some proof of competence (heads-of-household with their own capital) to something granted to pretty much everyone with a pulse, so now our economy is every day more and more centrally planned with a full 40% of the voting block electing those making such decisions living from paycheck to paycheck because they are so economically incompetent that they can't manage to run their own personal finances and don't know (or simply don't care) to stop making babies that they can't afford (though at this point, why not pop out more babies when everyone else will be forced to pay for them?), and likely have no capital of their own because their own parents were also little more than thoughtless/irrational over-active reproductive organs.

Oh, wait, you're only starting to hate mankind? You got some catching up to do!

The morale is high, the GoGlodytes are tested, bound and determined, and the third most grueling round has another day or two to go...

have Insomnia HAHAH :D

Faenwulf: BG1 has already come and gone. The rest is still up for grabs, tough.
avatar
XEternalDreamX: Awww..BG1 is gone? I was sleeping I guess.
Same thing happened to me. I already own BG, but I was going to pick up a couple gifts codes for later.
Well, I was able to get Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, and Neverwinter Nights 2.

1. Should I try and get the first Neverwinter, for the story?

2. What order should I play these in? I assume Neverwinter would be last.

Thanks for any feedback! :)

CarrionCrow: Tired. You?
Tired too, I've been here waiting for BG1 longer than I have been playing games. lol

marsrunner: Oh bummer, I missed the free Myst! I clicked on but it expired. Oh well, maybe next time!

Defkon: Join the club, I've about given up on the Freebies, though to be fair most of them I already owned and just planned on giving away as Xmas gifts anyhow.

I think in the future, one thing that might help folks out would be to use a combination of a 1 min sale, or use some kind of captcha code just to stall what I suspect are script abusers, or key re-sellers ect. Though I was intending to use them for gifts, I feel really bad for the folks that just legitimately wanted to play the games.. so maybe the free games shouldn't be gift-able in the future?? I doubt that would slow abuse though as folks will just sign up new accounts?

Oh well, I grabbed some good gifts and few for myself.
Yeah I at least finally was able to grab System Shock 2 and Leisure Suit Larry's Greatest Hits and Misses. I already bought Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2 and Planescape about a month ago. Obviously I would have preferred to pay the sale prices, but I am not complaining too much as they were definitely worth full price!

It doesn't matter at all, except for the sequels. I'd play NwN before NwN2. Other than that it doesn't matter.

I think NWN and NWN2 don't have alot of connections in terms of story. Only in setting.

BG = nice balance, decent dialogue and combat.
IWD= hack slash, combat heavy, nice graphics/backgrounds
PST = dialogue heavy
NWN2 = better more solid than NWN. The OC is very average NWN1 :/
No order needed.
