Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

KaneTheGoth: Took a gamble on Lucius. I know the write-ups aren't great but.. for £2.50 or so thought it was worth a shot
I'd be tempted to keep a free copy, but not interested enough to pay for it yet. I like the concept idea, kind of playing through the Omen films :)

stan423321: May not be the first one, but I just noticed an ortography error on Lucius description.

Orchestrate deadly accidents, using items, tools, and hell’s powers such as telekinesis and mind control. By combining classic adventure gameplay with the freedom and openness of a 3D world, you’ll have to use your wits and ensure no one knows of your fiendish mission until it’s too late!

hell’s powers such as telekinesis

telekinesis

teleKEANEsis
LoL, I want that power

thorton70: Wanted to try a more modern adventure game for my first one in that Genre, was going to try Lucious but it has some pretty bad reviews.
I thought it was fun for an indie title, and at the price of $3.99 I think it's worth the entertainment.

WillOfD: NOOOOOOO!!! I fell asleep waiting for age of wonders to sold out then Planescape, BG1 and Beyond Good and Evil...l!!!
I'm having trouble reading what you wrote. Which games did you miss?

i dont think its too bad i managed to get it for a dollar on groupees at halloween
Crap, just bought Divine Divinity and Stronghold HD in the weekend sale. I don't want to spend more money but I have poor impulse control. The only reason I'm staying here is to try and get some freebies. I was lucky enough to get one last night.
Well, bought a copy of Lucius since I don't really mind linear, puzzle-based point-and-click adventure type things! :D
OK there is BIG difference between being gansta wannabe and "special" child so DO NOT HURRY buying this game.

Dammit I've missed Beyond again.
If anyone has a spare copy I'd be glad to buy it (paypal)

groze: I'd honestly like to try Lucius, just by looking at screenshots and watching the trailer I know it's my kind of game. Well worth the €3 they're asking for it right now. Unfortunately, once again, my tin can of a computer is letting me down, since, according to GOG's page of the game, it doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run the game.

And I'm not making the same mistake I made during the Summer sale, in which I bought Alan Wake and Alan Wake: American Nightmare "Wide A. Wake" pack for €4 just because I felt it was way too good a deal to pass on, and now those games are gathering virtual dust in my GOG shelf, since I don't have the machine to run them.

So... sorry, Lucius, I really am sorry.
yeah same here xD I was ultimately astonished at the price of alan wake and when running the game I realized my pc just won't like it...I think my pc isn't used to a 'new' game like that since I usually only play the older ones...
anyway, I've watched enough movies about something like this, so fortunately I don't need any more 'lucius'...

Sylenall: Speaking of adventure games, anyone know when Brokeane age comes out? :p
First part is supposed to come out in January on Steam I think. Now I see what you did there. :P

FoxySage: Wait, there was a inquisitor freebie before Lucius? Didn't show up on my screen. :/

Daz12380: thanks for the answer

rakius300: They don't really give an answer on the FAQ to be honest, but here is what is says:

6. What are your prices in different countries?
Our prices are always the same, worldwide. It doesn't matter whether you live in the sunny Bahamas (lucky you!) or some place where polar bears roam the streets, it's always in USD either $5.99 or $9.99 per game. Our company is based in Europe and VAT/tax is included in the games' prices. This means that GOG.com will always charge you $5.99 or $9.99 per game.
However please be advised that we are based in Europe and have no control over your bank's additional international/card transaction fees (where applicable). Most banks don't charge their customers extra, but if you use funds already present on your PayPal account to buy games on GOG.com, you will be able to avoid any such additional costs.

So it seems to work into the fair price model they have set up, but I'm not sure how.
I wish Steam would learn from this, rather than $10 game sells here for £10 which = $16
