Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

CorranHorn: Anyone having problem with Sacred : Gold on Windows 7, 64 bit?
avatar
IanM: there was someone irate posting before about it not working with GTX 550 Ti, so probably you should check in the game specific forum as there may be known issues with solutions
Yes I saw that, didn´t ask for myself, just asked to see if I could help those who had problems since I had problem starting it myself before I installed the patch=).

Been away for a while
What I've missed in the last six hours?

sharp299: I impresive how all games based on Dungeos and dragons sells too quick....why they are so popular?
A lot of old pen and paper D&D players are gamers too, plus they're all time classics for any RPG fan.

so do you guys (and gals) sit on the website all day?
or
do you have some kind of designated buyers that you send your want list to and they takes shifts watching the site while you go to work or some other thing away from computer

GhostwriterDoF: The worst thing is when you buy a game at regular price and then it goes on a sale a week later, or a month later next... if you don't score a nice discount during this sale, do try to wait for the coming Christmas sale, it traditionally has the best discounts, followed by the Summer sale, with lots of game Titles discounted, and no pressure or wait times like in this sale.
avatar
innerring: Although it has to be noted the games in the summer/winter sale that are 75% (80%) off are in stacking bundles (you have to buy the whole bundle for the discount).
Stacking Promos! The most diabolical of all sales promos....

besides that --- those games are just awesome even if you never played d&d

D3athR3aver: Please tell me I am not the only one who loves refreshing the homepage just so I can see the little bar and numbers count down quickly?
I think so. If I accidentally refresh the front page on a 1200+ copy title, i kick myself.

People like you ask that question after each big selling of the games, and people like me tell you about how great they are. Then, people like you go and do a little checking and find out that the vast majority of people who have played these games recommend them heartily. Then, when the next sale comes around, people like you are eagerly awaiting the chance to buy the games at a 50% discount. When the discount is even higher, the games sell like hotcakes.

Haha, even trying to hints towards us being competent or sane in some capacity is hilarious at this point.

Xiko91: After Icewind, all I'm missing is BG2. Winter sale...
Or sell a kidney, well seriously I need a money source soon, my vidogame wishlist is larger than my mom's bible and also more useful to me.

So, no one has a spare copy of IWD for sale (I'll PayPal you, nothing left to trade) from that flash offer?

RPG games are very addictive to true fans of the genre, and somewhat life consuming. :) So anyone who's an RPG fan addictively wants to gobble up any of the classic games in the genre that they don't already have, or even to buy digital DRM-free copies of ones they do. I own Neverwinter Nights Platinum on DVD which I got for $45 a while back, but GOG put up the Diamond edition which includes an extra expansion pack or so without the hassles of using a DVD and entering a license key for $2, along with all the other D&D games for $2 also last holiday season. I ended up picking up all 10 or so of the D&D games for less than $20 - less than half of what I paid for Neverwinter Nights on DVD only 7 or 8 years ago! Hard to beat a sweet deal like that!

Being the weekend I've more or less sat here for 2 days.
Gone to do essentials like eat/sleep while the Keanes have been on

shadowknight2814: Good plot, good party mechanics, good writing... and have aged better than the late 80's/early 90's licensed AD&D titles.
avatar
sharp299: but you need to play them all to undresrtand the plot?, or i can play them one by one
No all games have their own story and plot. No need to play them all.
