Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Sachys: If you enjoyed B.A.S.S. Get it and don't think!

Velgor: Curse you and your silver tongue! Bought it.
Then I hope you enjoy it - great atmosphere, soundtrack and art style!
I won't spoil the story though.

Crappynuker1: How much time does one run last through Baldurs Gate 1 ? (approx.)

Khalaq: it's been a while, so I can't quite remember. 20 hours? It also depends on if you do Tales of the Sword Coast (the expansion).
I haven'y played it like that in many a year but I can remember putting well over 20 hours into it (although i like to do everything i can in those game, i hate missing small easter eggs ha)

UncleOvid: So, has anyone bought anything else on the site this weekend? I ask because I'm pretty much giving up on the sale at this point.

But Redshirt's been staring at me for the last four days, and I keep being tempted. Not for $20, mind, but I'm curious.

I actually did cave and quietly bought Wasteland yesterday, purely because I kept seeing it while I was Keaneing.
The worst thing is when you buy a game at regular price and then it goes on a sale a week later, or a month later next... if you don't score a nice discount during this sale, do try to wait for the coming Christmas sale, it traditionally has the best discounts, followed by the Summer sale, with lots of game Titles discounted, and no pressure or wait times like in this sale.

CarrionCrow: Bought Divine Divinity while waiting on other items. 1.49, unbeatable price.

gscotti: LOL, I did exactly the same!
Im going to get it before sale ends :)

Bless their silver tongue instead. Primordia is one of the best "modern"games I've played. Ever. Not even in recent times, just... ever. Take a look at the Primordia subforums here on GOG to have a peek at what kind of amazing experience awaits you.

Seriously.

dedoporno: Really?!? How many copies were there? I was afk not longer than 5 minutes, how fast did it sold out? I wanted that for to make the RPG trifecta, dammit!
Keep your eyes peeled between now and January, the AD&D games will almost certainly go on sale for up to 80% off again between now and then as they're super popular and seem to come along for the ride on every major blowout sale extravaganza. I imagine they also draw lots of traffic of people who might make non-D&D buys that were drawn by the D&D games also. :)

Daz12380: ive a problem due the the sever overload i ending pay twice for icedale got two different receipts from paypal but i didnt get the game once or a receipt form gog what do i do?

kc7wzl: you need to contact GOG support... the button next to "my Account"
sent message just waiting for reply now

skeletonbow: Even this deep into the never ending sale... Icewind Dale comes up at 900 copies and is sold out in minutes just like pretty much all of the other AD&D titles. That's a no brainer in our crowd here I guess, but it seems they can keep putting it on sale like this and it'll keep selling like hotcakes! Notice how most of the other games, even other games that are fairly popular have slowed to a crawl the third time through the loop?

Idea: Include free copies of random AD&D games along with all of the slow movers. ;o)
Fun suggestion as an add-on - Mention the addition of an AD&D game that goes with the purchase, but then make it either Demon Stone, Dragonshard or Temple of Elemental Evil. You'd be able to hear the mournful cries of the disappointed, even through the Internet. lol.

Thanks for the indication.
Anyone having problem with Sacred : Gold on Windows 7, 64 bit?
If so try downloading the patch, I did and then it started (not the GoG version though so it that one could already be patched).

Damn, good thing I had to go check up on someone here at work. If I hadn't I might've bought IWD, and there's a good chance I never would've played it. ^^
Buy Primordia, guys, I could guarantee you it is a good game! I bought it long before this promo and It was worth every cent!

A user posted this as a possible fix. Dunno if it works but you can try it:

Set Sacred.exe to run as admin.
Set config.exe to run as admin.
Run config.exe.
X Fullscreen
X Play Movies
X 32 Bit Color Depth
X Filter Active (Anti-Aliasing)

X Sound Activated
Run Sacred.exe.
It should work.

Oh, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. But I've spent around $50 on this sale so far and am not done yet. I have gifted some stuff, so I guess I'm getting some good karma to balance all the negative of ignoring family and work these past few days...
