Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Fuin: Check your PM for some extra Torment. ;)
avatar
xieliming: :O OMG :'( Thank you Fuin! I can't believe this...
I will try to pass on the generosity to another poor soul when I see a similarly hotly sought after game.
Thank you again from the land down under :)
You're welcome. :)

nijuu: The only $4.99 price i saw for it was from nuuvem for base game. been longtime . who else sells Omerta drm free?
As I mentioned originally, I may have had the price wrong. :) The sale in June that I referred to was $10.96. It's possible I got that sale mixed up with the price tag you're mentioning or something though.

Just noticed there is a demo of it on Steam available. Might be worth trying the demo to gauge a fair price I suppose... I might do that for the next sale perhaps... :)

D3athR3aver: I just want Hotline Miami :'(. I will be willing to trade a game of similar price for it, but it doesn't seem as if anyone is interested.
Not in this thread probably, if you get no answer try again after the sale.
avatar
nijuu: Hope they dont do that. One of the valid criticisms of last time was they showed ALL the bundles in one hit at one point of what was coming. No surprises at all.
avatar
teshra: I know, that's why I said all the bundles on the last day. Unlike last year when they had all the bundles on like day 5 or something odd like that. People bought up whatever they wanted on that day and then there was nothing left to look forward to after that. Pretty sure GOG would have learned a lesson from that.
I think they did it all one day... just before that "other' sale started.....

nijuu: NWN the oc was just meant to show off the editor and what could be done with it. a Sample .... any great mods you would recommend ? :)
Yes, we know that about the OC. As for mods, campaigns, and persistent worlds, I suggest you go to NWVault and start with the mods in the Hall of Fame.

On a more personal note, I've always liked Higher Ground's Path of Ascension--the original creators of AWPoA--to be the best persistent world. You can find the HG forum here.)

mrking58: Wow this thread is building up posts fast. Its like a page every 2 mins

BHTrellis: Mainly the beggers looking for free games and those trading them with others.
Yeah, as much as I like the fact that a lot of people on here are very nice and giving, I'm a little bit annoyed that people who complain are often getting rewarded (not even just those posts of, oh darn, I missed this, which I can somewhat understand, but some people actively post stuff like "this sale sucks because I missed blank", and then they get free stuff, like where's the fairness in that? Way to shaft all the quiet/polite people), thus fostering an atmosphere of people constantly complaining.

dedoporno: Where were you last night when we needed you?? :D
I fell asleep right before it came out, and only woke up when there were about 3 copies left. I tried to get it... but no luck.
avatar
JohnnyDollar: Alright, if I get it I'm going to hold you to that. If I'm disappointed I'll turn into your GOG stalker shadowing you everywhere.
avatar
BHTrellis: I'd be careful with that threat. I happen to know someone that married her stalker.
He he, I might become the stalkee, is that it?

Based on how this sale is going, trading will be busy for a while.... and then there's heaps of giveaways people put up before Xmas :)

With everyone trying to trade the same games

I'm one of the complainers, admitedly, But I have yet to get a free item from anyone. I just hate freebies now since I always miss them. And I'm not stooping to begging for one.

tobias683: Thanks for the rep, that is very kind of you.

BTCentral: How do you give rep, just rate the post? Or is it done another way I haven't discovered yet.
lol I have no idea but I felt it polite to thank him for it. I wasn't expecting it by any means. Was just paying forward the same kindness another has given to me and others continue to give to people in this community.
