Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

clcaztx: Definitely buy Icewind Dale. I loved that game. Too bad they're not offering ID2.

EX-Deimon: IWD is one of the games i'm waiting for. IWD 2 will most prob come up as a xmas sale anyway
I hope so. I spent many hours of my life on those games and would like to try them again.

jpwiseguy: BEHOLD my children! The time of the great "Omerta Keaning" is upon us! All shall suffer! Woe and despair...
I like your literary style. Very atmospheric.

MobiusArcher: Good thing I got all the stuff I absolutely needed to get. West Michigan is starting to get hit by a nasty storm. Its also perfect weather for tornado's. I have to unplug all my my electronics, and go silent. Like right now.
Getting hit by them too, power went out once like 3 seconds after I got Space Colony. That was my sign to close the sale tab. Well, that and Omerta

itchy01ca01: Im curious about NWN Diamond. Is it a must have like Planescape or NWN2 or BG?
Better than NWN2, in my opinion. Definitely one of my favourite RPGs of all time :)
I've given everything out but BG 1 so far, so check pms and I'm so sorry if I didn't give you one. I gave them out to the first folks who asked.

I know somebody wanted BG 1 but my messages blew up and I didn't get it, so if you could post it here I'll see to it!

Devoidless: I admit defeat, GOG. I missed Planescape because your sales system is borked.
Check your PMs!

Grabberz: How is Icewind Dale compared to NWN 1+2 and BG 1+2?
Just as good? Buy or skip it? It will be on sale for $1.99 soon but I need sleep.

kaszman1: Very combat oriented and linear. Basicly no choices to make, but the party management, the beautiful artwork makes it worth buying. And the music!!! OMG, the music. I could listen to it for days...
Yes, the music is awesome and the artwork still is impressive, I would buy it without a doubt if I didn´t already own it (bought it when it was released and then as a complete package with ID 2).

Since SpiderFighter is gone, I will post the list of games still left from now on. The new list will be posted as soon as Omerta is finished (so in another 3 hours or so).

MasodikTiasma: Definitely. Though gameplay-wise they're similar, the mood and story is extremely different. Baldur's Gate is your usual "I'm the Chosen One, let's save the world" thing (very well executed, of course, the story's great), Planescape is a lot darker, with a very unusual setting.
avatar
spoonwhale: If i like Baldur's, then i'll like planescape as well, then?
Not necessarily. Planescape is a great game, but it's a lot more "brainy" than Baldur. If you like dark fantasy books (Moorcock, The Witcher, A Song of Ice and Fire) you'll probably like Torment.

But as people have said, it's a game that's good mostly for the setting, characters and dialogues. Don't expect the combat to be as strategic as BG: it's the same system, but simplified.

Do this with the movie trailer voice - " In a world...."
Earlier this year at some point if I'm not mistaken Omerta was on sale for $4.99 including all of the DLC. I imagine they'll put it on sale for that again over the holidays likely. Personally I'm waiting for it to hit the sweet spot of $2.99 or less as it has poor reviews but still piques my curiosity a bit.

Hambooooooniiing

Hey, I'd love BG1 if you still have it?

Yah, I saw the Bears game is suspended on account of tornado activity. Wonder where those 70,000 people can go?
