Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Nope

Buenro-games: Is that Nexus game like a sinlge player EVE Online or something?
Combat, yes.

On that note, I need to get back to X3: Terran Conflict now that X Rebirth is released... And I can't run the latter.

Jade Empire is still waiting to come up.

sharp299: Resonance is a good game has an excellent plot why people is complaining about it!!!
Not really seen anyone complain about it, just that P&C games don't sell as quickly so could have been done with fewer games available. 450 would probably have been good enough, while Nexus could have had 200 - 250 judging by the demand for it

Stooner: What is a "sobriquet"?
a name, he explained earlier, so Sir Stooner of Appleton, or Baron Stooner of Hawai'i, for example.
All you guys out there that didn't get the game(-s) you wanted: GOG's Christmas sale is soon upon us, and they'll have price cuts that usually go down to 75-80%, so don't despair. There will also probably be a few freebies for the taking, lasting days and not limited to a number.

To those on the fence about Resonance: if you like point and click adventure games and don't have this gem, be sure to grab it. If you are not particularly fond of point and clicks because you have no patience and/or find most of the puzzles and exploration downright impossible, rest assured, Resonance -- as well as the other Wadjet Eye-published games -- is a much more accessible adventure game than those of the bygone times, so, know that you'll probably enjoy it. It has an amazing story going for it, with great plot twists, engrossing characters and those kind of retro graphics that some of us find endearing and that are pretty well made and nail the feeling of the old LucasArts/Sierra point and click adventures.

I love old school Point & Click adventures, so...just picked up yet another impulse/sleep deprived/though I'm sure I'll love it/ purchase. Resonance added to my every growing shelf.

Now if someone would just gift me with some cash to pay for all of these purchases! LOL

background26: Games I bought in order

- Leisure Suit Larry Greatest Hits and Misses
- The Lords of Midnight
- Defenders' Quest
- Tales of Monkey Island
- Sacred Gold
- Nexus - The Jupiter Incident
- Resonance

This sale is very successful as I would not have bought any of the games above without discounts. Would not even bother to look at Resonance, Nexus or Monkey Island in normal circumstances.

I want
1. Expeditions: Conquistador
2. King's Bounty: Crossworlds GOTY
3. Theme Hospital
4. Tropico 3 Gold Ed
5. Alpha Centauri

Would consider those Spellforce games if they pop up.

It is 1am Monday morning now but I could not bear to sleep!
Conquistador is currently in the weekly Humble Bundle for $6, along with a bunch of other games, of course:
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
After reading the posts of people who grabbed an extra copy of Nexus, and the other posts of people complaining that they missed it after waiting and waiting, I'm surprised I haven't seen some posts saying "Thanks for saving my day by gifting me your extra copy."

Is it possible that no one is trying to help out those who missed their wanted game? That doesn't sound like the GOG community I'm familiar with.
Looks like this might take a while, time to start getting dinner ready :)

Oh... I didn't see, this thread is just insane... ;p Thanks

I like your examples, but I'd go with Sir Stooner of Sobriety...

Buenro-games: Is that Nexus game like a sinlge player EVE Online or something?
Hmm.. It is like EVE but without the multiplayer. It's mostly ship-to-ship combat. Homeworld-type. It's not a 4X like Sins. The graphics and the engine they use for the ships is amazing though. Not for everyone but for anyone wanting to captain a starship with realish physics, it's pretty cool.
