Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Has Icewinddale gone up yet?

mudd1: I somehow can't process a sentence that combines "FEZ" and "not appealing". So what were you saying?

shadowbaneaxe: Fez seems too weird. Capiche? ;)
Ok, "FEZ" and "weird" is something I can probably get my head around ;)

Cardian: Those are probably what saved us from The Third Coming.

cjc7: I am very serious, next time I have saved up extra money in my game budget , I will buy at full retail JK2 and keep it new in my game inventory just as a memorial , that I should never forget .... moment of silence please....
That is actually a great idea... I guess... don't know if I trust my sanity. I don't even know where it is right now...

ahab: I doubt that
But it's the next upcoming Hollywood blockbuster!
Fell asleep on Fez and now it's Wing Commander. Anything I miss?

Any more freebies that I had no chance in hell of getting?

Nope!

Cthulhu says thank you for the meal...

shadowbaneaxe: Neither of those games looks appealing at all if you ask me, so it's no surprise they took so long to sell. I suppose this promo is a good way to force some sales for such titles. Probably raked in more money for them than all previous sales combined :p

Shendue: Actually Hotline Miami is a masterpiece and it has been widely praised by both critics and gamers. Specialized press wrote a lot about it and it received a ton of prizes. About Fez, i can't speak for myself since i didn't play it yet, but it received almost the same general praise and its fair amount of "best of" prizes from some indie awards.
The problem is mostly that both of them have already been offered into humble bundles and several other sales, and in the third round 500+ copies is kinda overkill since almost everybody looking for the games already picked a copy during the first 2 rounds.
YMMV. Miami Hotline has good reviews but it's not for everyone. In my opinion, it has a great style, but boring game play. Kill someone. Advance. Kill someone else. Advance. It's GTA on rails, only without the sandbox. Also, it makes me feel like I'm on a bad acid trip and that's a memory I don't want to revisit.

Again, you still have yours?
Which is a better game WC 4 or privateer?

I know this may be surprising for you but some people work at the weekend
In a way, these larger numbers of copies make it easier for the more casual GOG-ers to snatch a copy of a game that they want. The first 2 rounds passed so quickly it would've been much harder to be around at the right time for a specific game. I can imagine that some people might complain for not being given a fair chance to get the game they wanted.

Of course, the most popular games are still gone in minutes, despite the higher number of copies. It's only the weird/niche/not so good games that stall for a significant amount of time.
people are crapping on Keane but from what's around about it, it isn't an awful game. Its main low points is the user interface and the pacing. however reviews have positively talked about the game's visuals and humour. It's not as good as number 1 but number 1 was generally considered a good game.

What?! Bloody hell, man. I played that game over and over. Dunno, it's just so fun trying to play through the stage as quickly as you can while creating as much carnage as possible raking in as high score you possibly can with an awesome sound-track to boot. Loved it. Would have been my game of 2012 if it wasn't for Walking Dead

I haven´t played them but I´ve read about them, that depends on if you want an open world game or more of a story driven one.
