Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Crowned: Well, we only got 25 Jack Keanes on the last round, so it seems they are adjusting the amounts based on popularity.

These indie titles can be tricky, though, as they are often liked but don't sell as well as it'd lead one to believe.

Cardian: The remaining 575 that were supposed to run in round 3 will be the very last offer. The Final Keaning, because it was so popular.
the sale that will never end . . . . .

unless they double down on the discount %
I envy those who are around 15 and start to play the classics and likes them, when I played many of them my computer was to slow, Starcraft : Broodwar was unplayable when many units where on the screen at the same time. The last mission was to much, it couldn´t be done with my computer. Many years later I decided to play it again and this time my computer was no longer an issue, finally beat it. Such a good game=).

When Outcast came out, I had to downscale everything in order to play it. Now I can play it hassle-free once a year. Yes, I love this game, one of the best stories ever told in action-gaming.

The only problem was when your computer became to fast for the games. I remember trying to run Ultima VII a few years back and everything was just rushing by. Kinda like Wing Commander 1 now. The GoG version of Ultima, luckily, had the speed reduced, though.

I was lucky when I upgraded an old PC years ago, I bought an FX5600U card that lasted over 10 years (well it died about 2 years ago). That card was able to play pretty much every game I bought up until it died. Now I can't play anything with 3D graphics due to the lousy onboard graphics on this motherboard :(

I already have it but on Steam. It's not that much fun to pay for it twice

zlep: Interesting hypothesis. When protected by anonymity, do anti-social people show their true anti-social selves...? I'd like to see someone investigate that. (Mind you, there are *so many* people acting anti-social on the internet that it would be worrying to find a correlation.)
avatar
mantarrochen: Fact is, IRL also requires anti-social behaviour from you. So at most you can say that anonymity serves to underline what you are already doing out there.
I dunno. If people IRL acted as abusively as they do online, I don't think I'd ever leave the house. Face-to-face contact seems to cause most people to moderate their behaviour (including, one assumes, the psychopaths who were apparently "such nice people" to their neighbours). I don't think it's unreasonable that online anonymity may show disturbing tendencies that aren't apparent IRL (until someone goes on a killing spree, say).

But if you're talking about *secret* behavior, like killing animals and watching snuff films, then yes, I agree the anonymity probably only underlines real-life behavior.
Whoa, the first time the ticker got stuck for me. I think I lost internet connection for a minute a while ago. A good reminder.
