Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Oofles: Watch from great mountains
Let the clans fight and battle
King of Dragon Pass
Nice! Bravo!

*applause*

kaileeena: Same Jazz is a favorite too, I think it was my first platformer on PC

KMetalMind: GOG should totally get both titles here. And while doing it, it would be nice to have One Must Fall 2097, I loved that fighting game too. I still own a copy of all three around here in some old CDs, but it would be nice to have them here anyway.

One Must Fall 2097 is freeware now.

Minmataro: Hmmm... if i lay down i might not wake up for 6-8 hours. I highly doubt Keane legends will run more than a hour or two. Screw it another cup of coffee... think ive drank more than a dozen cups in the last 18 hours.
When I see a slow sale, I set my alarm for 20 minute intervals. If the game is close to selling, I stay awake, otherwise I reset my alarm and go back to sleep. You could always try doing this?

CarrionCrow: And once again, I am inclined to wonder who keeps giving the GOG person in charge of devising these numbers heavy amounts of cough syrup. Saturation is saturation, whether at 100 percent price or 10. Ultima Underworld just got through demonstrating that (and testing my sanity in the process). Someone should probably tell the numbers person to back away from the codeine, as it's causing them to make incredibly unrealistic business decisions.

Infin8ty: I have a suspicion that these numbers were set before the sale. GOG probably promised to sell a certain number of copies and distributed them, maybe randomly or by choice, I don't know. But these numbers were at the very least set by the time the game appeared in round 2 and more likely even before then.
It would be interesting to see how exactly these numbers were decided. Definitely hit and miss in my opinion, some flow smoothly, some turn into nightmares for the customer base to slog through, regardless of product quality.
This one rhymes AND is in haiku

I wake, now upright
I cannot take sleep with fright

CarrionCrow: Six hundred Raymen
Simultaneous denial
My prize eludes me
haha, good!
Just bought one Rayman!
Good day to you humans, does anyone know if Tropico 3 is still to come or have I missed it?

Now this is a true pro sales veteran in action. I love it.
Oh, GOG,
(Jee-oh-jee phonetically)
What have you done to us?

We sit and we wait,
(Maybe some masturbate)
Waiting for your deals to come.

We stare at the bar
(It's not gone too far)
And hope that our eyes don't cross.

Aha! Look right there,
(It's impolite to stare)
The counter's gone done to one!

Oh what will be seen,
(It better not be Keane)
To tempt our fat wallets with sales?

We moan in disgust,
(5/5, buy it you must!)
And jam F5 to refresh the Forums.
We sit at our PC waiting to experience gaming History.
While the keaning Looms waiting to strike most certainly.
Sales totals come to a crawl
That god damn sales bar wont move at all.
Too sleep or stay, fighting exhaustion.
Typing out on gog forums in frustration.
Will the Keaning show mercy atlast
Please have this game sale pass.
Suddenly the next game flips and its free!!!
Ah but too slow god damn ISP the game wasn't for me!
Here it is a true classic, the keaning lifts
gamers cries are now drowned out by clicks.

Tropico 3 should be left to come.

It's still on deck. 44 titles left to go, not counting Rayman.

One Must Fall 2097 is freeware now.
Then they should put it here as yet another permanent freebie :)

I still have a copy, but the DOS version sometimes crash for some random reason, and I remember having trouble with the game getting super-fast sometimes or with cracking audio. It was still playable though as those problems weren´t that common (I don´t remember if I tried on W7, but I surely tried on XP more than once).
Everyone else is doing the thing!

How it feels to be ruled by Ologarchy
In a system full of rampant anarchy
Hungry for a taste of Alpha Centauri

Will those of weath offer patronage
So that I might be allowed to disengage
And catch a moment's reset backstage?
