Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Freebies don't count for last chance. You'll still get a chance... It may be next month if Omerta comes before it though....

ElasmoFan: That's pretty awesome. Those were what got me into gaming (especially on the pc) and the fantasy genre in general.
It is neat. He said the thing I remember most from a WoW player, that he could tell the zones had been constructed with a lot of love, He felt there is no market left for text adventures, unfortunately. I wonder.
Is it true? Can it be? Keane's ultimate underworld double adventure is finally winding down? ;_;

mantarrochen: I dont know about Shadow Man, but I just had the same experience with Rogue Legacy from this very sale. It is virtually unplayable with keyboard.

Minmataro: Rogue Legacy works with a wired controller.

Imo anyone that games on a PC should own a wired Xbox 360 controller. They are super cheap on amazon since the new XO versions are releasing in january.

Buy one, you wont regret it. With my Remote and Xpadder ive set profiles for a whole mess of mouse and keyboard only games and older games that have funky controller settings.
Actually I was already checking out XBOX controller on amazon. But it would have to be a wireless one which requires an additional dongle so all in all €40. For just one game? I dont know...

Honestly, if I wanted to use a controller like that, I'd have the console it goes with. My controllers of choice regardless of the game is a mouse, keyboard, and for games like Freespace, a joystick. Besides which, of all the games I've played that are basically console ports, I've had no problem playing them with my usual setup. But hey, that's just me. ^^

Infin8ty: Nah, I beat it quite thoroughly with keyboard. It's doable. It may be a bit harder, but I'm a PC elitist, so... yah...
avatar
mantarrochen: I dont know I always confuse UP and JUMP, jumping and attacking are also tricky, dont get me started on down attack (should try that extra option maybe) and in general timing is very difficult this way. I wish the devs would have taken a little more time to implement mouse&keyboard.
Actually playing a platforming game with a keyboard can be more precise than with a pad, specially controlling opposite directions like left-right and up-down, as you are not restricted to one direction. I don´t know how easy is to control Rogue Legacy with the keyboard as I currently use a pad, but back in the day I played through the entire Rayman and all the Designer/Forever levels with a keyboard, and even now I don´t feel the pad is as precise.

Anyway, Rogue Legacy is a demanding game and you die a lot with or without a pad, and with or without already knowing all the rooms, all the enemies, etc. I tried a new game after getting around new plus +6 because I was getting bored of no more stats improving, and I got surprised at how many times I kept dying when low level.

Kaitu: My wife and I JUST started watching from the 2005 reboot. Two episodes left in the 9th doctor season. (There's something inherently geek-rotic about hearing her say "TARDIS".) :-)

BananaJane: Tardis is from dr who?
For 50 years now, yes.

Ive had about 12-15 hours sleep since the sale started...

kaileeena: I m rooting for Alpha Centauri next so I can stop following this promotion (I think I will need therapy as I am getting addicted to watching that bar)

Limblessk9: I'm shocked at how hard it is to tear my face away from this promo page.
Amazing huh? It's not rational. Heck, I already own all the games coming up.

Shadow Man is an amazing exploration game, but very very dark in substance. I have a wired xbox 360 controller which i will use

They created that addictive, gambler-esque mentality of, "This isn't what I wanted, that means the next thing has to be." (And the next one, and the next one, and the next one...)
9 games left...

Edit: Changed to 7 while i typed this.
