Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

tobias683: It is just a great show. I know some people who are purists (my dad) who refuse to watch the new stuff because it's not the old stuff.....I know, it makes no sense. The direction they have taken the show since rebooting it in 2005 is just phenomenal. I have cried more than once watching that show. I'm not afraid to admit it. It's very rare that a TV SHOW will cause that reaction in me. Most movies can't even do that. It really is top notch tv.

Kaitu: Yeah. We were both blubbering at the end of "Father's Day" (when they go back to see Rose's dad).
Yeah, that was definitely a good one. End of Season 2 you'll be like 'Oh, WTF! C'mon!' Then at the end of Season 4 you'll be like "Oh, thank god!" Then you'll watch the Christmas special between season 4 and 5 and be an emotional wreck! THEN You'll make your way through season 5 and 6 and get halfway into season 7 and you'll be screaming through your tears 'DAMN YOU, MOFFAT!' Welcome to the Whoniverse my friend! =D

deathmyrk: Thanks! I'll definitely do that. The keyboard is also making Shadow Man much harder than it should be also.
Shadow Man's actually quite easy to play with the keyboard (IMO), you just have to tweak the controls a little in the options (change to WASD for the movement and make sure mouse play is activated.)

mantarrochen: I dont know about Shadow Man, but I just had the same experience with Rogue Legacy from this very sale. It is virtually unplayable with keyboard.
Rogue Legacy works with a wired controller.

Imo anyone that games on a PC should own a wired Xbox 360 controller. They are super cheap on amazon since the new XO versions are releasing in january.

Buy one, you wont regret it. With my Remote and Xpadder ive set profiles for a whole mess of mouse and keyboard only games and older games that have funky controller settings.

truhlik77: Nice. You really make waiting more pleasant. +rep for that.

mantarrochen: I dont know I always confuse UP and JUMP, jumping and attacking are also tricky, dont get me started on down attack (should try that extra option maybe) and in general timing is very difficult this way. I wish the devs would have taken a little more time to implement mouse&keyboard.

Infin8ty: Well, I do play and do quite well at Super Meat Boy with the keyboard also, so I'm somewhat good at platforming and all that. Having a mechanical keyboard helps too.
See and I come from the opposite side convincing myself to buy Rogue Legacy as to balance out all the RPGs and Turn-Based stuff I seem to prefer. I thought "Hey, a well-made platformer might even thing out a bit, make me a more complete gamer ;D". And then you cant use the mouse o,0

Hahaha! Glad to be here. It's a very friendly place! Looking forward to what is to come. :-)

GOG should collect every poem here and collect them into promo article. And maybe reward authors with small gift :)

ElasmoFan: I kind of miss those good old fashion text adventures.

Craig234: The co-author of Zork played on my servers in Everquest and World of Warcraft.
That's pretty awesome. Those were what got me into gaming (especially on the pc) and the fantasy genre in general.

An Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic

I'll just work my way down the unreleased list. Others can play too!
I m rooting for Alpha Centauri next so I can stop following this promotion (I think I will need therapy as I am getting addicted to watching that bar)
I have been waiting for Witcher 2 since the past 48 hours and then it comes up as a freebie when I dosed of for a couple of hours. I hope it comes up again for sale in the last chance round otherwise all time would be wasted because thats the only game I wanted to get from this sale.

I'm shocked at how hard it is to tear my face away from this promo page.

tobias683: Grew up watching Classic Who. Love Newho too. Matt Smith is awesome. I'm gonna be sad to see him go, but man, I am so looking forward to Saturday 11/23/2013! Doctor Who 50 year Anniversary!
avatar
Kaitu: My wife and I JUST started watching from the 2005 reboot. Two episodes left in the 9th doctor season. (There's something inherently geek-rotic about hearing her say "TARDIS".) :-)
Tardis is from dr who?

Chevette: Xyzzy!
"Fool."
