Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Fuin: Damnit, did I miss Shelter again? Curse this need for sleep. :(

Is there somone around that got an extra copy left over that they might be willing to part with?

Craig234: It's just been on bundles and may still well be there, check groupees (a little hard to find, click current bundles) and I think Indie Royale.
Ah, thanks for the tip. :) I like having all my stuff collected in one place though, so I'll just wait until the next time it goes on sale here if I can't get it now.
(I might have something you want, I got several nice games during the sale.)
As we watch the deals turn sour
Patiently waiting for our hour
Rise O armies of Jade Empire

As the wind howls and turns us pale
We whisper and drink of wine and ale
Silently with shivers for Icewind Dale

As these eyes seethe with hate
An atrocious trap set with bait
Please have mercy, Balder's Gate
Virtual Nerd Crack. GoG has made it.

Come on Gog! Put up Alpha Centauri next so my kids can have a father again?!

(yeah, low blow, I know... but hey)
I've finished Shadow Tower. Still looking for the king's field games.

Shadow Tower was a great game also. Very hard, but worth it. It definitely defines survival RPG where you have to see what is more important sacrifice health or weapons. I am playing KF on PC right now, and really need to find a controller. I can't get very far without strafing in battle, which is essential to all KF games.
I think everyone is punch drunk from lack of sleep around here.

BTW, any Dr. Who fans, check out theyetee.com in the next 21 hours. AWESOME Who shirts!

Minmataro: I made a King's field folder and just loaded up everything into it. all the EXE files work. i dont actually click on the moonlight icon, just the game EXE. I now have three full KF games on my PC.

deathmyrk: Ok. I got it. It was easier than I made it out to be lol. I never played KF I. This is very interesting. I played KF for Playstation, but it was actually KF2 japan version, and KF 2 for playstation is really KF3, KF4 for PS2 is actually when the Japan and US versions were actually the same. I always wanted to try the original KF and it's a real surprise. It's very awkward though, because I am using a keyboard it feels like I am playing Mech Command with that huge block of a control board. I know there's a way to use PS controllers on computers. In any case, yeah, all of the King's Field games are real good, and each bring their own unique feel to them.

I need to get the other two games, but you really need to try out the originals, especially if you like older PS and PS2 games.
Find a program called JoytoKey then you can bind keyboard functions to your PS controller. Im doing that with my Xbox 360 remote with Xpadder. Made it easier to play.

Craig234: This post contains a spoiler about Neverwinter Nights, so if you don't want that, don't read.

When I played Neverwinter Nights, I liked the campaign though it was so criticized.

But that was up to a point. When at the start of chapter 2 they were killing a character I liked, it pissed me off and I stopped playing.

Is there any way around that killing in playing it? I was thinking of trying it again, but would rather correct that.

It's not the first time - I quit playing Portal until I found a cheat code to get past one situation I found objectionable.

I never played a Death Knight in World of Warcraft because they made you take part in killing everyone in a church that just seemed nasty. I think they might have finally softened that a little.

tobias683: If you are talking about the character I think you are talking about isn't that like part of the main reason things go the way they do later in the game? It's been a while since I played and I'm trying not to use names or divulge spoilers even though I think I just did.
Probably. I just don't like that. I stopped playing Heroes of Might and Magic 5 for the same reason.
