Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Minmataro: This is embarrassing, Ultima Underworld should be selling just as fast any other classic... maybe everyone that wanted it got it the first two passes or maybe people are scared away by the graphics.

Its a shame tbh.

CarrionCrow: They got the projection wrong. 750 was way too many, and now it ends up looking less favorable because of the number chosen.
I figure it this way. At least it gives people time to eat, sleep, work, bio breaks, and important errands in the meantime >_>

A lot of us snatched the Ultima's up straight away when they first hit GOG. I mean, really, they were totally worth the full prices asked for them.

Yeah, that was what I was afraid of. Not as many people are into the type of game that Ultima Underworld is. I mean, even some fans of Ultima have been squeamish with Ultima Underworld. It is just a different breed of game. That isn't to say it is excellent, but I know if it was Ultima VII complete up for sale for $1.49, then it would have been sold out by now. It's because that is one of the best of its kind of games, and Ultima Underworld is kind of like it's shadow.

Buenro-games: Someone posted a link where it was being offered at $1 dollar, don't remember it though..
groupees, be mine bundle
Still needing a little more persuasion before I cave in and buy this.
Considering how slowly even some classics are moving in this round, I'm beginning to wonder if this sale is going to hurt GOG's holiday sale numbers some. Demand for the games is obviously down with them taking longer to sale, and the holiday sale will be here in a month. With this giving people's wish lists a good cleaning out, they won't have as much stuff to get then.

thorton70: Tbh any RBG with super dated graphics I have yet to play is kind of a turn off. Maybe its playing some of the more modern beautiful RPG's, but usually the story on RPG's takes a while to develop, so exploring ect is what keeps people interesting. With such dated graphics it might be hard to get into it.

I am sure for the people who grew up playing this it will be amazing, I have old NES and Atari games like that.
Yeah same here , i need at least the level of infinity engine(bg and planescape) graphics to be able to enjoy a game
I'm feeling confident this thread will reach 30,000 posts before the sale is over...

I second your feeling. Overlooking Ultima Underworld on account of dated graphics is plain dumb. Especially at this price, and for two titles...

The story develops fairly steadily throughout UW1 (it's pretty much a looming presence over everything you do), and in the case of UW2 it starts with a bang right from the beginning. Exploration is going to be your life right from the start in either case - you don't get anything done by sitting around in a safe spot (and you don't even start with a safe location to sit around in in UW1...)

Briareos262: I heve it. It's been backlogged for so long. It might because of my bad memories in my childhood where I finally got towards the end in Ultima 1 where I'm in space and I don't know WTH to do to finally make it to the end >_< I think I was hypnotized by the cloth map and shiny coin thinking there would be some awesome end to it to never get there =P
Not far from where you start the game is a very important hint about what to do in that final area!
HUGE shout out to worlddan for being awesome and sending me a key to The Blackwell Bundle!

Can't thank you enough! Your kindness shall not be forgotten!

There are some truly lovely people in this forum. Glad I found my way here.

ElasmoFan: Figured I might as well ask while I am here. Is it possible to move a game between accounts or gift it to myself on another account? I got Fallout when it was free on a random account I had made and now I have this new one with all the games I bought and would just prefer to send over the fallout game to this account for easy access. Is that possible?
Send a message to support and explain that you would like to fuse both accounts. You can't do it otherwise.

As far as gifting, just put in a personal e-mail when you buy a game and you receive a code that is usable by anyone including yourself. It doesn't expire until used.
How long has this sale been going again? I sure could do with some Tomb Raider now that I can play them on PC, but I also have a life outside that I need to get back to at some point within the next 24 hours.

It's 75% off and less than a $1.50 which is like tax money in the states on some random cheapy item =P
