Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

deathmyrk: No, sadly its only on Playstation 1 and 2, and they have released reboots on PSP. They are very unique games. One of a kind really. It's like there are just so many variables to take in with each weapon, and the games have this sense of exploration. They are very dark in nature as well. The thing that is the Achille's heel is that the game require patience, especially The Ancient City, as it involves a lot of backtracking. If you are very curious, they have let's play videos on Youtube. I got into the games after playing Dark Souls, and I am never going to sell/get rid of those games. I have also heard of Moonlight Sword editor where fans have created a PC prequel to Kings Field that is free. I never tried it though, but it looks great.

N0w3gg: On PSP...wow, I've actually got one of those. Thanks, going to look this up more!
They are called King's Field Additional I and II. They are japan imports.

However to follow the story, or understand certain item magic or weapons names/effects, this website is actually very good:

http://www.kings-field.com/

It has a very extensive walkthrough for King's Field II. It doesn't, for some odd reason, contain anything for King's Field I. Since both games are sold separately, you way want to go for King's Field II. There isn't anything wrong with KF, but KFII is much more superior. Amazon has it for 50-80 bucks, but I know you could find it cheaper other places. Heck, the games themselves go for 15-30 bucks on EBay.

Minmataro: This is embarrassing, Ultima Underworld should be selling just as fast any other classic... maybe everyone that wanted it got it the first two passes or maybe people are scared away by the graphics.

Its a shame tbh.
Tbh any RBG with super dated graphics I have yet to play is kind of a turn off. Maybe its playing some of the more modern beautiful RPG's, but usually the story on RPG's takes a while to develop, so exploring ect is what keeps people interesting. With such dated graphics it might be hard to get into it.

I am sure for the people who grew up playing this it will be amazing, I have old NES and Atari games like that.

I heve it. It's been backlogged for so long. It might because of my bad memories in my childhood where I finally got towards the end in Ultima 1 where I'm in space and I don't know WTH to do to finally make it to the end >_< I think I was hypnotized by the cloth map and shiny coin thinking there would be some awesome end to it to never get there =P

deathmyrk: ... Daggerfell and Arena has always intrigued me. I have to find those games...

Psykopat89: You can download them both for free from Bethesda's own website.

Enjoy!
Awesome! Nice! I am going to try them out while I am waiting for the next game to show up, same with King's Field fan-made games. Thank you.
Tried to buy this (paypal), but hasn't turned up on my shelf. Sent message to support - hopefully hear back soon I guess.

They got the projection wrong. 750 was way too many, and now it ends up looking less favorable because of the number chosen.
I refuse to go to sleep; must wait for more deals; eyelids getting heavy... sooooo heavy... Where is the super glue?!?

Thruggsen: EA own a lot of such things now and won't let anybody else sell them.
avatar
BananaJane: What about all the EA games on gog right now?
Like ultima and wing commander
EA own an extraordinary amount of stuff and each set of IP will have been negotiated differently. Both those franchises are Origin Studios originally which was parented by EA but not ever fully consumed (rather like BioWare now). I guess (but don't know) that some of the distribution rights of existing games was retained by the Origin Studios guys after EA shut them down, even though EA owns the IP (which is why new Ultima themed games have to step cautiously around it).

It's all very murky.
Figured I might as well ask while I am here. Is it possible to move a game between accounts or gift it to myself on another account? I got Fallout when it was free on a random account I had made and now I have this new one with all the games I bought and would just prefer to send over the fallout game to this account for easy access. Is that possible?

I just bought it. Can't pass it up for that price and i'm sure i'll enjoy the games too! :)
How do I sell UU? It is one of my favorite games. Tough as nails, but worth your time if that's your cup of tea.

Try staples if all else fails. Worked for me. Two days and the little buggers haven't worked their way out of my flesh yet.
