Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Well... isnt that just a world of suck.

its pathetic we need those games to be preserved in digital form...
We need classics that are supported for newer generations to discover. Im kind of shocked when i dont see Day of the tentacle, Diablo, Freelancer and a bunch of other games i grew up playing not offered anywhere but on Ebay.

I think almost everybody on this site does. It's just been impossible to get for a long long while.
Yea I was actually very surprised with Ultima Underworld. The screenshots do not give the game justice. Forever I have been looking for a PC game that can be comparable to King's Field. I mean, there is the elder scrolls series, but I always found there was something lacking. Ultima Underworld encapsulates a real sense of dread and desperation atypical of King's Field, but also pays huge nods to older dungeon crawlers. Anvil of Dawn is also a great game that provides likewise experience. I always wished From Software would rejuvenate KF, but with their "Souls" series, I can say that they have closed the chapter. Sad... But Ultima Underworld is most excellent.

justanoldgamer: I thought I was done buying games but I wasn't.
Thanks to those who answered my question about auto mapping.

Revenile: The game also lets you write down your own notes on the map, only other game I've seen that on is daggerfall.
System Shock lets you make notes on the map as well.

Shimejibr: I see. Well, thank you for your efforts, cyborgogbot!

many links for ultima's remakes in Dungeon Siege engine. NWN engine and others!!!
Interesting. Where am I going to have time to play all this?!?!!?
If I buy Ultima Underworld is anyone willing too trade it for Tomb Raider Trilogy? I'm seriously soooo tired right now feeel like i'm going too pass out.
Aww, well. 7am here, time for me to call it a night. Haven't been very lucky so far. Missed System Shock 2, The Witcher 2 as well as The Blackwell Bundle.

Good luck to everyone who decides to stick around! :)
Do I really need Underworld though? I feel like 4 and 7 would already last me quite a while.

I distinctly remember Gog being one of a few sites with dozens of forum posts of people begging for the Gold Box games; I wondered this myself sometime ago, and naturally did a Google search on it. From what I remember, the CRPGAddict was saying something about them and why they're not conveniently acquirable ... Electronic Arts is listed as the distributor on Wikipedia. If EA still holds the rights to the series, I wouldn't count on the Gold Box games to come here anytime soon.
I agree on the Goldbox games. I've been wanting to play Pools of Radiance since forever now! It was my favorite AD&D campaign!

Lucasarts has always been stubborn and now that Disney owns them too, they just don't seem to care as well.. Blizz is very protective of the games so yeah its next to nil seeing them here.
