Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

MadSweeney: C'mon people, everyone knows the Ultima series is godlike! You get IV for free just for making a Gog account and BOTH Underworld games now for less than a dollar each! Add in VII and your collection will be complete, because they're all you'll be playing for a long while.
You could say that 4-5 days ago before GOG made most of us drain our wallets, me included. xD

Ok you will be my seller, how do you move in this game ? WASD-like or ?
I feel like the minority that liked U9. Shame my disks were destroyed in a basement flood years ago. One day I'll have to buy it off GoG... Maybe.
All this talk of old RPG. I have to ask why doesn't GoG have the old Gold box RPGs? like Pool of Radiance? are they under another name in a collection on this site? have we lost them forever?

Morkalum05: Looks like Ultima is going to be a while...

To pass the time, I was looking at Ultima 1 gameplay and stumbled upon a 3d version of Ultima 6 that is using the Dungeon Siege Engine.

The website for the project is http://www.u6project.com/

I haven't tried it myself yet, but after this sale I might look into this further.
look at this site...

Dzsono: I'd say the same for U8. U9 was better, but that's not saying much ;)
avatar
Revenile: Nah, U8 had many technical flaws, U9 majorly screwed up a major plot point from U7 pt2 by bringing Dupre back.
Yeah, I totally agree the story was messed up. Mechanics-wise, I still think U9 was more enjoyable. Plus that prostitute always made me laugh :D

gogbot: No, as my tag beneath my name says, I'm a cyborg at best.

Shimejibr: I see. Well, thank you for your efforts, cyborgogbot!

WMDMaster: Also probably many bots and scripts at work as well.

Minmataro: Im trying to be positive about the whole thing.
I start thinking about script kiddies and ill feel like im being robbed and then my whole attitude changes.

So im here just for the sales, that witcher 2 flash by just rubbed me the wrong way, other than that im just happy to get the deals.
Yeah that was almost funny. ''Offer has expired'' after 0,1 sec. It's possible to get a better chance by bypassing wifi and plugging the network cable directly into the computer.

N0w3gg: Sounds similier to Grimrock. Are they much the same, or are there significant differences?
avatar
BananaJane: This is more like elder scrolls 1 than grimrock.
Hmmm, never played first elder scrolls. Think I grabbed it from Bethesda whenever they were giving their old stuff away for free, but never got it running. Looks like that means combat oriented, which I like, so bought. Party time!

EA own a lot of such things now and won't let anybody else sell them.

northern7: think i got time to get a round of MechWarrior Online in with the rate this one is going...later guys....
Taking a break from the matchmaker on that :p

Yes, it's an early version of that control scheme, although you can also use the mouse.
