Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

FreDDaN: I survived The Keane round, I survived Eador run, I survived Don't Starve run, it's 05:11 here and I'm not giving up yet!

MGShogun: You have steel testicles. :DDD
I will have the Tomb Raider Trilogy! Only too prolly never play but I will have it!
10!

DrRoxo: Don't worry, your suffering won't go unnoticed - Lord Keane looks favourably upon those who persevere through situations such as this.

RandomJC: Best part? I've gotten all I really want. I'm just here for to finish for the fun of it.
A dedicated Keanesian, if I ever saw one :D Good luck!

MysterD: Both are pretty damn good ARPG's, if you ask me.

Sacred 2: Gold is in 3D, while S1: Gold is not.
Plus - I prefer the map, UI improvements, graphics, and a lot of others things from Sacred 2: Gold over the original Sacred 1: Gold.

Also, Sacred 2 runs at better resolutions, flat-out technically much better & more consistently normally - meanwhile S1's framerate at times can get choppy at times, no matter what. Especially if there's a lot on screen and if you're way zoomed-out.

Sacred 2: Gold has been much smoother, since most recent official patch and the last unofficial patch.

skeletonbow: You guys are slowly convincing me I should have bought Sacred Gold now too. :) I was 95% there and decided not to as I didn't want to overdo it. :) Now putting it on my wishlist for a future sale as I like those sort of games. :)
If you like ARPG's, yeah - S1: Gold + S2: Gold are really good stuff.

It's just...like most Ascaron games, for most people, getting their games running properly can really be a major freakin' pain in the neck and a chore. But once you got 'em going right - yeah, you're good to go. :D

xenxander: Sacred Gold won't run on my PC.. I woudln't get it, it's not fit for machines.

Some peeps get it to run.. I can't..... so I don't like it, now. Even though I bought the actual discs back in the day.. I hoped GOG would have a working copy for windows 7.. but no. It won't run, sadly. just get Sacred 2, which has support for modern video cards.

skeletonbow: In my experience, some of the games in the GOG catalogue may need tweaking to get them to work and it sometimes means even anticipating that and having a bit of patience. They do their best to make them work out of the box, but different CPU speeds, multicore, CPU features that autoscale the frequency up and down dynamically, and numerous other things can cause them to fail or misbehave. I've encountered this with several games so far such as Alone in the Dark 1/2/3, however I just hit the GOG forums, DOSbox wiki and Google and search for tips as well as contacting GOG support a few times. In every case so far I was able to solve the problem in less than 24 hours and often in less than 20 minutes. I might encounter a game that gives me a tougher time than that in the future but I'm not too worried about it. Heck, getting some of the MSDOS games to run in actual MSDOS when they came out was 10 times more challeging. LOL Running QEMM OPTIMIZE and juggling drivers, sound card DMA settings etc... Getting GOG versions of games (old or new) to work in Windows 7 is a breeze in comparison. ;oP
Well GOG staff never replied to my initial posts for Sacred Gold OR Jack Orlando.. both games wouldn't run on my system.

I had the impression GOG didn't fucking care at that point and stopped pestering them and sucked up the loss. :(

Maybe trying to run the game on one core could work, yes it must be hell to make these older titles work on modern systems.
Please be Witcher 2, please be Witcher 2, please be Witcher 2.....
5 games left!
its like stuck on 5... i thought for a second i died and went to hell.
