Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Nolerion: Just had a good nights sleep after Monkey Island, seems i didn't miss anything. Phew :)

CarrionCrow: You people, with your "sleep" and your "alert, well-rested feeling". You don't know what you're missing. Stay up until you finally pass out at your desk, wake up all disoriented twenty minutes later, stay up another 8 or 9 hours, then repeat.
Good times.
Best result I got was after 85 hours without sleep doing my thesis. the floor started to move like those "heatwaves" over a toaster and people told me i looked like a zombie.

Uzur9: Buggy and unstable. Loved doing a clean reinstall just to have it give me errors I couldn't fix after it finished installing.
avatar
qux: Yeah, see I never had stability problems; never got a BSOD. Had some spotty sound issues which were rectified by installing a new driver and that was it. Guess I was lucky.

I kind of miss Visual Studio 6 as well but that's neither here nor there.
I'm actually quite fond of the new changes in VS2012 Ultimate.... I should look and see about upgrading to VS2013....

VS6, huh? A bit before my time :D I got on board with 2010 edition :D

nijuu: Hmm Divine Divinity for 1.50 hmmmm.

Oh. Has HM broken Retro City rampages record yet? (formerly Jack Keane 2's) ahha

Fictionvision: Don't think so if RCR really did go 8 hours. This is at 5 and a half or so now I think.
So

1. RCR
2. HM almost necking with JK2
3. Eador
4......

i can walk like a zombie
I actually hope the next game on offer is Omerta, at least 300 copies!
I need a good night's sleep and then spend the day with the kid paying outside. 300 copies of Omerta should do the trick.
GOG gods, if you're reading this, have mercy! As if the Retro City Rampage Holy Time Of Despair hasn't been enough, already, you make us endure this Hotline Miami Penance Period! Please,oh, please, once it is over, pull a Keane like you did before, when you reduced the copies of Our Lord Jack Keane 2 from 100 to 20! I beg of you, show us your divine mercy and don't exponentially increase the copies of the likes of the Dreaded Omerta!

MysterD: Both are pretty damn good ARPG's, if you ask me.

Sacred 2: Gold is in 3D, while S1: Gold is not.
Plus - I prefer the map, UI improvements, graphics, and a lot of others things from Sacred 2: Gold over the original Sacred 1: Gold.

Also, Sacred 2 runs at better resolutions, flat-out technically much better & more consistently normally - meanwhile S1's framerate at times can get choppy at times, no matter what. Especially if there's a lot on screen and if you're way zoomed-out.

Sacred 2: Gold has been much smoother, since most recent official patch and the last unofficial patch.
You guys are slowly convincing me I should have bought Sacred Gold now too. :) I was 95% there and decided not to as I didn't want to overdo it. :) Now putting it on my wishlist for a future sale as I like those sort of games. :)

Hotline Miami did start off with 900 copies...
Whelp, I think the next game should be up after I study for my paleontology exam.
Dang I love my college, I get VS2013 Ultimate for free!
This must be four hours by now, mayby longer.

tobias683: I hope that was sarcasm....if not and you are genuinely curious people hate it because it has been unanimously and universally been declared the WORST OS in the History of Forever.
avatar
qux: No it wasn't sarcasm, I'm serious; I genuinely liked Windows ME. Saying people hate it because some other person has decided it's shit is a poor reason to dislike something, so I ask again: what was the problem?
IIRC for me it was a version that was utterly unstable and froze a lot and compatibility issues with software.

Seems some people had issues with ME and others not. My pops never had any issues yet I did.

>.> and I think I have a copy of VS6 Pro in my shop, got it from a work buddy back then.

Sacred Gold won't run on my PC.. I woudln't get it, it's not fit for machines.

Some peeps get it to run.. I can't..... so I don't like it, now. Even though I bought the actual discs back in the day.. I hoped GOG would have a working copy for windows 7.. but no. It won't run, sadly. just get Sacred 2, which has support for modern video cards.
