Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

rakius300: Alright, I was going to toss a coin but I'll poll you guys instead. My buddy is squared away with U7 but I can't decide between Witcher 1 or continue waiting for Thief. So if you were going to load one of the two to play on and off for a few months which would it be?
I vote for Witcher 1

_spiorad_: I have some steam codes (from humblebundle)

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
F.E.A.R. 3
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North
Gotham City Impostors: Professional Kit
The Lord of the Rings Online: Steely Dawn Starter Pack

I don't need them - someone want to, then i can send it
Has someone asked for the Lord of the Rings Online pack? I could use that one.

I'd get Thief because Gog gives Witcher games aways for free every few months ;) In all seriousness, I probably had more fun with The Witcher. Don't get me wrong, Thief is an awesome game, I just like The Witcher more. They're both quite different genres, though, so any comparison has to fail.

Is there someone who can grab a copy of WC4 for a trade of some kind from here? I have a Torchlight code on GOG and if anyone doesn't have it yet I can give it for the game.

PS: Takers or no takers I'll give TL for free later on, I mentioned about it several (dozens) of pages before, but no one bit on it sadly.

hoarderjoe: Damn it. Missed Chronicles of Riddick :'(

As a big fan of the Thief games, I would say Witcher.
But, if you will have some access to the internet, get Thief 2 and Modsmodsmodsmods. Lots of wonderful Fan Missions.

I remember it being around six CD's. You could probably look it up on eBary, though.

Really, it's based on the movie, not the book, and it's a milestone in the adventure genre. Play it, you won't regret it. It's not just fine, it's Broken Sword or Monkey Island good.

CorranHorn: If you liked the movie, then play the game, Westwood did an amazing job capturing the feel of the movie and they nailed it. I was blown away the first time I played it, when it first came out no other game looked as good as that one.
Never knew there was a comic book, and I guess I'm not interested on it unless someone convinces me otherwise, but I strongly recommend trying the game if you enjoyed the game and/or the novel at all. It does an excellent job of recreating the atmosphere of both works, perfectly fusing elements of one and the other. Its only flaw as a game is that because it has several possible endings, most of the plot is just up in the air and depends too much on your actions (or lack thereof). That is, you need to fill in the gaps and do some "meta-roleplaying" of your own based on your own interpretation of the characters. Otherwise, it's just freakin' awesome.

LOL, I so badly need to do the dishes !
what fun ways are you finding to pass the time?

I just searched 160 odd pages to find an old post I needed to rep! The thread search function here really blows - it couldn't find the the username or the post using a keyword that was in the post! I'm so glad browsers have keyword search functions that do work
