Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Velgor: The last four games I've purchased were all impulse buys, and I gifted them to myself so I have codes to trade. I'm likely to keep them all, but I DO have one that is up for grabs if I can't get Jade Empire or Nexus. And that's System Shock 2.

So, if you missed out on SS2, hang in there and we can possibly trade. Or I'll be giving it away to some lucky sod here in these lovely forums.

Now run away before I taunt you a second time!
Every game I purchased on GoG has been added to my account, just noticed some day ago that I did get a gift copy of Sins Of Solar Empire : Rebellion, lol had forgot about doing so=).

Ydrisselle: The Real Texas already went up, you missed it.

puviani: Yup. That's what made me give up. :)
but shadow magic is just coming dont quit now

EX-Deimon: Holy crap, didn't even know BG2 Enhanced Edition got released yesterday! Time for me to finish up the rest of BGE then!
avatar
CorranHorn: How does it compare to the Totu, is it worth getting if you have all games and can use that mod?
Not at the current price. The only difference is they added three new characters to the game and added online support. Last time I played it online with a friend, we had to use Hamachi but I heard they made it easier to play online now, don't know since I've not played it in a couple of months.

Ungunbu: oh so you can actually gift games to yourself to trade them later? i didn't know!
Yeah, that's how you do it. I didn't know that either. Just send a gift code to your own email address and then instead of it being added to your shelf, you have a gift code. Then you can send that code to someone else, or post on the forums.

To add a code, go to www.gog.com/gift

I wish I knew that earlier and I would have more possible trades instead of the 3 or 4 I have now.

Yes, not sure how it works here but it seems to work the same way Steam does it.
em jade empire already "last chanced"??

Quote For Truth. Similar to +1. Means 'yes, I agree'.

Devoidless: I thought there were mods that already did that? Maybe not. Regardless, I personally find it super hard to throw down that much dosh for a game that I already own. I know they added some knew things (mainly bugs), but not enough to command that price.
I'm more than happy with my modded BG games and TuTu.

northern7: ya, i own the originals too, but got BGI EE somewhere on the cheap (can't remember where(?)). Even own the disks and have a digital copy of BGII from here...but still interest in the EE for it - just not at $25.
I have all the originals too, for BG 1 and 2 and Icewind Dale 1 and 2, with the original manuals and fold out maps... :)

In other words, I completely agree with this statement. Apologies for using abbreviations in an international forum. Bad, Velgor! BAD!!

Chevette: In my opinion it's better to get the original here and mod it up with the widescreen patch and such. At least, it was that way with BG 1. Cheaper too.
Except it is way easier and faster to get the enhanced version. Plus they are still updating it and adding new stuff which actually makes it better than regular BG1 with the mods. They even fixed the problem with slowdowns and Intel chips so the game actually runs smoother than my original. I don't regret the purchase.
As for the new Enhanced BG2 ... They combined Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal and added four new party members as well as all the other enhancements they did ... BUT, looking back at all the HUNDREDS of FIXES they made for BG1 Enhanced; I think I'll wait awhile for them to do the same for BG2 enhanced and for the price to go down a bit.
BUT BG1 Enhanced is pretty good right now after all the work they have been putting into it after release.

...i am sure the zoom in feature will be there too (was in the first EE) - i really like this for big screens.

"In theoretical physics, quantum field theory (QFT) is a theoretical framework for constructing quantum mechanical models of subatomic particles in particle physics and quasiparticles in condensed matter physics, by treating a particle as an excited state of an underlying physical field."
