Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

DubConqueror: Macaroni on a sandwich? And I thought American were just crazy for wanting the right to own killing thingies, ah, what's the name, guns...
Growing up I loved making cold mashed Potato sandwiches ... and simple White bread and Mayonnaise sandwiches are pretty good too. Still make those now and then :)

KMJX: Inquisitor. Any words about it?
avatar
Khalaq: The reviews pretty much tell you what you need to know about it.
Someone here was praising the in-game music in Inquisitor. That piqued my attention, but am not too keen on the battle system, I think.

Ungunbu: u r not the first one
avatar
Chevette: I see that now... I'll put my comfy chair away for later.
There's room enough for everyone with pythonesque humour on this comfy throne of ours.

stellathestud10: It's not too demanding. I can't say exactly as I'm running a fairly beefy system (Haswell Quad-core, Radeon 7850 graphics, 8 GB RAM), but it didn't seem too bad in that regard. There's also an easy mode for it that makes it considerably less of a grind to get through.
avatar
gscotti: Easy mode? Can you tell me more about that?
Different setting that changes up the levels some. I haven't used it much personally, I like the difficulty in the normal mode, but it definitely makes it where reflexes are less important. More higher brain than lower reflex brain I guess.

Schemilix: I was largely joking. I actually mainly eat split red lentils, quinoa and chickpeas for my protein that doesn't come from milk and eggs, rather than actual beans.
avatar
xenxander: Lentils take FOREVER to soak before you can make them soft enough to eat. I soaked some for 5 hours and it wasn't enough -they were still slightly crunchy.. However soaking them for 12 hours did the trick.
I fry mine right from the bag because red lentils are harmless raw. They're crunchy as fuck but I like that.

Deva: How many people know they have way more games than they could ever play, (let alone finish), and yet, you keep on buying new ones anyway?

Worse, how many buy them and then never get around to even installing a good number of them? I just ask to see if I'm alone on this....
avatar
justanoldgamer: I'm at 281 on GOG, so yes I don't think I'll ever play or finish them all.
I'm a bit of a hoarder and since I saw Chessmaster 9 disappear from the site it got harder to resist buying games on sale that I might like just in case they disappear too.
Wow, 281... and I thought I had a lot here at GOG at 138. My Steam games number over 400 though, due to cheap bundles that had Steam keys... I guess as someone else said, they'll be good to play when one retires.... of course, I'll probably have hundreds more by then, on the PC and new consoles that come along. At least we're all helping to support the gaming industry. :)
avatar
merow: What is still open? What wasnt last chanced in the last 7 hours?
Is Jade Empire and Giana still available?
Yes.

Faenwulf: Then I better not take a look. A) I have no money for it and b) I'm still fighting Dark Souls.....
God, the Design flaws in that game...
avatar
MysterD: Oh, man...Dark Souls: PTD is brutal.
Awesome game, though - even though I'm terrible at it.

Made me way to Sen's Fortress.
If you like Demon Souls/Dark Souls then take a look at Severence (the game that clearly inspired Demon Souls), played the demo so many times and when I finally came to the boss he killed me with one bloody strike, tried to beat him but gave up. Another game I need to play when I have the time to do so=).
If someone can gift me a game I don't have here on GOG, I'll buy Inquisitor just to move it along. any takers?
Well, I give up. GOG can just have a regular sale on The Real Texas and Shadow Magic if they want to dig into my wallet.

Stick to soy milk, just make sure it's vanilla flavored. Then it tastes like a melted milkshake.

Why is this game selling so slowly, it's glorious.
