Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Minmataro: Gotta buy Inquisitor, If ya dont support devs trying to bring back old sub-genres then they will stop making them.

Then all we will be left with is CoD...
That's very true. I love Red Baron and I've been waiting for YEARS to see a modern WWI flight sim. Several have tried and been cancelled, or gone totally arcade. I know there are some mods out there for some games, but I'd really like a new, modern game that is built from the ground up to be a WWI flight sim.

Faenwulf: Inquisition? Looks like an Indie-Diablo.

Schemilix: It's actually not very Diablo-y. Give it a look see. The soundtrack's great and they put some real care into the story, but it can be very difficult and a bit tedious.

This coming from someone who plays Vagrant Story.
Dude, Vagrant Story is one of my most favorite games ever! It's the primary reason why I am considering buying a PS3. That and Parasite Eve.

ahab_54: Any chance I will snipe myself Sniper Elite Berlin? Would hate to miss on this one.
That game ground to a halt yesterday. It's come and gone... and the freebie of sniper has also come and gone.

Sorry... you miss it
And beans DO make you gassy. The fact that you don't doesn't apply to most of the people. Fact is, human body can't process the external skin of the beans. If you somehow peel the beans, tho, that won't make any gas at all, because the inner part gets processed without any problem by the human body.

Johnmourby: 600 copies of Inquisitor....... Ok. back to playing Morrowind.
Terraria is my distraction of Choice...

booyabojangles: Well, wasn't expecting Inquisitor. Might pick it up if it's still here when I get back from running errands!
Nobody expects Inquisitor....

Sorry couldn't resist.

Ungunbu: is this going to be slow?
avatar
Buenro-games: Unfortunately, yes. It's a good game but with low name recognition and minor game issues. More of a B-lister than A-lister jedenfalls.
too bad --- i'll soon have to quit and i fear i'll miss the next freebie

skirtish: Nobody expects the Inquisitor! Assuming he's Spanish, that is.
avatar
pacogens: LOL! BRILLIANT!!
I'll just leave that here.

Sorry, been up already.

Schemilix: Well said. Some people who talk about freedom of speech fail to understand that it means people are equally free to call you a cock.
avatar
stylez82: The other thing people don't realize, at least as far as the US Bill of Rights goes, is that Amendment I starts off with "Congress shall make no law...". Free speech isn't freedom to say whatever you flippin' want, it's a measure to prevent the GOVERNMENT from telling you what you can or cannot say.
Oh I mean the actual words 'freedom of speech'. Not the amendment. I ain't American, so it doesn't apply to me and I will confess that I know next to fuck all about the American government, as you'll know next to fuck all about how much of a funny name Ed Balls is.

gogbot: game list

<stealth edit of innocuous post to get around the dreaded "Please wait. Processing..." issue>

THE LIST

Draggon: I see what you did there! Good thinking, good sir!
Thank you my friend.
Nobody ever expects the spanish Jack Keane.

Deva: How many people know they have way more games than they could ever play, (let alone finish), and yet, you keep on buying new ones anyway?

Worse, how many buy them and then never get around to even installing a good number of them? I just ask to see if I'm alone on this....
avatar
justanoldgamer: I'm at 281 on GOG, so yes I don't think I'll ever play or finish them all.
I'm a bit of a hoarder and since I saw Chessmaster 9 disappear from the site it got harder to resist buying games on sale that I might like just in case they disappear too.
I have almost 120 (will have to count again, but it is more than 116 now), and I did manage to install the great majority of t hem, and play most of them. The thing is, only a handful are great games, and once you find those, it's hard to go back to the mediocre ones.
Well inquisitor is going to be here a while think I will have time to watch another movie.
