Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

northern7: Those waiting for Two Worlds II can already purhase it for $2 at greenmangaming...just an fyi.
avatar
MysterD: I already have TW2 from Retail & TW2 + POTFF from Gamersgate.
Personally, I don't care for the Reality Pump homebrew DRM that comes w/ those games.

Do you know what the DRM for GMG's version of TW2 is?
Does it use Capsule only?
Does it also use the Reality Pump home-brew DRM?
How come GMG doesn't have POTFF?

I'd rather have TW2: Epic as DRM-FREE over on GOG...
One day, maybe one day.
requires capsule. :(
I got mine off of steam and had to go through that dam reality pump registration crap.

booyabojangles: Well, wasn't expecting Inquisitor.
Nobody expects the Inquisitor! Assuming he's Spanish, that is.

This thread has derailed into talking about the smell of farts. The delirium has set in.

Schemilix: Too much info here but meat-eater shit smells worse than veggie shit to me, and vice versa. I'm gonna come out and say beans don't make you all that gassy, surprisingly.
avatar
Buenro-games: Research says the opposite. But on the bright side, people who eat them a lot, don't notice it anymore.

Well I don't notice either way since I turned vegerooni. From a scientific standpoint there are too many factors influencing your... flatulence to say categorically either way. But as far as casual conversations go with one data point - me - there's no difference that I have observed.
600 inquisitor it's a good game. But I'm sure some one at gog is taking the piss.
any chance having freebie torment?

booyabojangles: Well, wasn't expecting Inquisitor. Might pick it up if it's still here when I get back from running errands!

LOL! BRILLIANT!!
Hmm I'll give someone a "witcher 1' code for this game's code... it looks good, I just need to save for Thief 3...

KMJX: Inquisitor. Any words about it?
Hard to say. It's a game that people either love or hate. Nothing in between.

Personally I think it's great. Felt pretty much like one of the old RPGs to me (except for the real-time combat which is also one of the main critics of the people who hate the game).
We need 400ish heretics quicksmart to buy off the inquisitor ... or he will come to them :)

gscotti: I like those rare platformers where I can adjust the skill level to low (I suck, I'm slow).
Also, my PC is not the fastest, how demanding is the game, graphics and CPU wise?
avatar
stellathestud10: It's not too demanding. I can't say exactly as I'm running a fairly beefy system (Haswell Quad-core, Radeon 7850 graphics, 8 GB RAM), but it didn't seem too bad in that regard. There's also an easy mode for it that makes it considerably less of a grind to get through.
Easy mode? Can you tell me more about that?

Uzur9: Same here (:

DubConqueror: It's a quite common disease because of so many good games around and so many sales, combined with the hope of one day getting to play those good games. I'm infected.

And the people infecting us are gaming companies. Apparantely they make more money selling games for absurdly low prices so that a lot of people buy it who never get round to playing games, than making the price so high, you only buy games one at the time when you actually are going to play it immediately as you've just finished the last one.

Digital distribution worsened this phenomenon, but even in the trashbin days of 3 games for €5,- I often bought games that I quiet quickly after installing than abandoning them for falling short of expectations.

I guess things must be different for console games where €35,- for a game is a 'huge discount'.
And then you take a look at Kickstarter, they only need to talk about the game and showing some concept art and get millions of dollars from backers. They think it is there "brand" that sells games" when in reality it´s the talented people behind them.
Any chance I will snipe myself Sniper Elite Berlin? Would hate to miss on this one.

Ungunbu: is this going to be slow?
Unfortunately, yes. It's a good game but with low name recognition and minor game issues. More of a B-lister than A-lister jedenfalls.
I haven't missed the last chance on Assassin's Creed yet have I?
