Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Schemilix: Yeah. It just doesn't have the right tongue-in-cheek factor to justify itself. Having games with ridiculous exploitation and violence and such can be done well given that it invokes in the player a sense of thought, that is to say, that it highlights to the consumer just WHAT they are doing and forces them to think.
LSL is bloody brainless from what I've seen. I know it mocks Larry but, oy.

fj101: what wrong with having some fun having some sexy women? that what they there for! so anything that could offend anyone has to be tongue in cheek? fuck that someone's always gon be offended in our modern liberal society bollocks. I find all the whining and censorship much worse than half the offensive stuff. also leisure suit larry is clearly taking the piss in a big way anyway and just isn't against women

what kind of rubbish is that to judge him on his looks anyway other person?

just liberal whining. never had 2 give a woman the hand keep her quiet you fellas
And as we can see from the standard of man defending this game, I have no reason to change my mind away from the game being sexist, tasteless trash. I mean I'm not going to argue with you, but I will state my point. I don't think you understand what liberal means, by the way, but that's where I direct you to a nearby library and advise you to go read a book on it.

Draggon made a good argument discussing how it's acceptable for there to be violence and yet I take offence at LSL, which is fair enough. You're just quite a disgusting person really.

It's not a 'misogynist game' - so not against women, no. The problem is that while men and women both are taught from a young age that shooting people is bad, don't do it, young people are not taught the same basic respect towards each other - and especially towards women. But you don't need to listen to me. Adults or any gender may play the game as a parody, but the game was aimed at teenagers and while to most it's harmless fun, the fact that it exists and the male counterpart doesn't reflects a distinct imbalance in a medium that has more females in it than you expect.

Don't give me that crap about 'men are portrayed stereotypically as well'. It's power fantasy. Even the bumbling Larry's a desirable man to be to the intended consumer of that game.

I'd rather you continue being obviously sexist so that anyone of female body can get the fuck out of your way and avoid getting 'the hand'. Seriously?

Ungunbu: y do u hate guybrush?

but it immediately!
No, I just don't want to give my money to telltale and Disney. (R.I.P Lucas arts).
Did i miss out on the Thief games?

shadowbaneaxe: The only problem I have with it is that - while the conclusion is good enough - after the ending credits you get to see a bit that teases you for a sequel. And that sequel might not be made by TellTale games, because they are focusing on different franchises now. Disney owning LucasArts probably isn't helping either.

Xabyer_B: Telltale just do "Fahrenheit clones" now. You don't need use your brain to finish this games, focus in the history. The times when they did true graphic adventures, like sam & max seasons, are story.
I've read some good things about their Walking Dead games.

Those Sam and Max games were hit and miss for me, I liked the Devil's Playhouse 3 when it went film noir, but I knew the brain in the jar was going to be annoying even before I found it.

CorranHorn: Yes go for Icewind Dale, not much dialogue (compared to Planescape it´s like reading a single paper vs reading a whole series of books). Also if you like "rogue like" games check out Sword Of The Stars : The Pit

xenxander: I did an LP of 'The Pit' on youtube. On 'insane' difficulty and I actually beat the game... so yay me!
I only played the demo and still haven´t managed to finish it on normal, it´s on my list of games to buy that´s for sure=).
Crazy stuff. Because of all buys I have made in this GOG sale my bank blocked my card. I had to call them to be able to buy Tales of Monkey Island. I thought I wouldn't be able to buy it on time.

jackster79: Yay is right!

I am only just dabbling into it while waiting for the sales here. Got the 2 DLCs when I got Wasteland when it was released earlier this week, and the 360 controller support makes the game so much more enjoyable (for me anyway).

Did you have a preferred class (or are you good enough to beat it with each one with your hands tied behind your back :-D )
I chose the marine, only for his starting gear.

If you're curious, my youtube is 'xenxander'

my "let's plays" are in playlists, all organized :)

Wrong. Games are created and consumed by people. They reflect the attitude of those people.
finally it became yellow
