Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Ungunbu: they should make some kind of lottery instead of this crazy ninja-click thing

xenxander: That's been suggested for about 800 pages, now xD
yeah i know --- it's just i love posting LOL

Knofbath: It says there are 3 manuals included on the GoG page. I've got the box set so I don't know what they are.
avatar
amagarr: Yes, 209 pages of manuals
I'm guessing then that they still don't have it. Probably the three included manuals are for the base game and each of the two expansions. Doesn't matter; I've found it via Google. I'll PM Judas to see if they can include it.
Thanks!

kecskeszarv: Seeing that here are a lot of knowledgeable gamers I have a question.

I have seen and heard a lot of rave about a few rpgs. My main gripe is, that I don't really like squad based rpgs, the only one I enjoyed is a rather odd one Fallout Tactics, but that is almost just complete combat.

I really do enjoy more soloing in rpgs and not the have a complete group.

Should this keep me from getting something like:

Planescape: Torment, BG 1 or 2 or the likes of similar big ones?

These games seem nice, but the group thing put me off.

CarrionCrow: I would say that if you primarily enjoy combat to go for the Icewind Dale series. To me, the big D&D games come in three flavors - lots of combat, minimal talking (Icewind), a mix of the two (Baldur's Gate) and holy crap it's a book but a great book (Planescape).
Yes go for Icewind Dale, not much dialogue (compared to Planescape it´s like reading a single paper vs reading a whole series of books). Also if you like "rogue like" games check out Sword Of The Stars : The Pit

Kennethor: Nooo! Last chance, someone buy me the real texas, I will give you something for 5.99 later.

skirtish: I tried buying you one but forgot to give your details, idiot that I am. I've sent a support request to GOG and hope they'll transfer it to your account. :/
Thanks, hope it gets solved. Thanks a lot!

I did an LP of 'The Pit' on youtube. On 'insane' difficulty and I actually beat the game... so yay me!

gog support is known to be very kind --- they'll probably fix it

shadowbaneaxe: The only problem I have with it is that - while the conclusion is good enough - after the ending credits you get to see a bit that teases you for a sequel. And that sequel might not be made by TellTale games, because they are focusing on different franchises now. Disney owning LucasArts probably isn't helping either.
Telltale just do "Fahrenheit clones" now. You don't need use your brain to finish this games, focus in the history. The times when they did true graphic adventures, like sam & max seasons, are story.
low rated
y do u hate guybrush?

but it immediately!

Beelzebubb: LucasArts had already destroyed themselves even before disney.
True. It just hurts being reminded of how far lost the company that could be thanked for introducing Tim Schafer to the world is.
Anyone who's tired of this fall insomnia promo madness just check out the weekend promo, there's some decent classics there 75% off.

Infin8ty: Slight correction: Disney destroying LucasArts and planning on having EA handle everything related to it.....

Bonshea: Every word said in that sentence makes me want to cry even more then the last.
Yes, EA being given the rights is the single most stupid mistake ever, I´m a Star Wars fan but they are going to prove to me that they have changed before I buy a game at full price ever again (regret buying Old Republic which still is untouched, not worth a single dime after the did the whole F2P thing, nice one EA).

Yay is right!

I am only just dabbling into it while waiting for the sales here. Got the 2 DLCs when I got Wasteland when it was released earlier this week, and the 360 controller support makes the game so much more enjoyable (for me anyway).

Did you have a preferred class (or are you good enough to beat it with each one with your hands tied behind your back :-D )
