Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

GhostwriterDoF: For those of you watching these posts and not posting, get Monkey Island while it is available at this price!!!!

Tolmar: I want to buy games, but I also want to snuggle with the missus.

I can only choose one :(
Buy a game, commence snuggling, take a break, and repeat... :D
In all fairness, though, Jack Keane 2 doesn't seem to be all that bad, just not worth the price. And Nordic Games have some really great games in this promo, besides the two Keanes. I bought AquaNox 2 "for the team" and I'm really glad I did, it's an awesome game, people should try it.

Alien8n: No one is making you buy games.

NO! GET MY MOUSE AWAY FROM THE BUY BUTTON, DON'T MAKE ME BUY ANOTHER GAME!
avatar
RandomJC: It is a compulsion. Evil Gog. Making me a loyal customer.
I've bought 16 games so far and still have 4 more on my list :/
avatar
FreDDaN: Still waiting for Tomb Raider Trilogy. It feels like it will never go on sale.
Thats what I thought waiting for Defenders Quest.. Finally got it! :)
Now are still Psychonauts & Space Colony left. Waiting time takes no end...

Brothers in Keaning! ;D
How everyone tried to get the 20k Post... haha :D
Congratz Schemilix. How anti-climatic. ^^

kecskeszarv: Seeing that here are a lot of knowledgeable gamers I have a question.

I have seen and heard a lot of rave about a few rpgs. My main gripe is, that I don't really like squad based rpgs, the only one I enjoyed is a rather odd one Fallout Tactics, but that is almost just complete combat.

I really do enjoy more soloing in rpgs and not the have a complete group.

Should this keep me from getting something like:

Planescape: Torment, BG 1 or 2 or the likes of similar big ones?

These games seem nice, but the group thing put me off.
Planescape Torment is a game like no other. Its main focus is on the main character, and the other folks in your "squad" add depth to him. It is a game about relationships and the impact people have on each other. It is a very deep game, and has a ton of text. Some people get scared off by all of the text, but if you enjoy sci-fi and/or fantasy novels, you should enjoy it.
Definitely don't let this Tales of Monkey Island sale slip by!
-laughs- Guys I already got the 20,000 k post, go look. Talking about the weather...

You win! You are the 20,000 poster in this topic! What do you win, you ask? I have no idea but I am sure it some how involves Jack Keane.

shadowbaneaxe: Nah. ToMI is actually value for your money. It won't take THAT long for it to sell out.
avatar
MGShogun: Still debating if I should get it or not.
If you like adventure games at all, you should play it.

It's a high quality game (atmosphere, characters, voice acting, references, jokes, etc were all satisfying to me and the art style grows on you) and it's not like you'll blaze through it either. All episodes combined have a very good length. It took me a week to finish it, (almost) without using walkthroughs. For comparison, I recently finished the free Flight of the Amazon Queen in a day and a half.
