Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

jpwiseguy: Jackmonkey Keaneisland?

shadowbaneaxe: Nah. ToMI is actually value for your money. It won't take THAT long for it to sell out.
Still debating if I should get it or not.
I hope NVN Diamond Edition comes up before Omerta. If Omerta is offered first, I'm going on my 10 day vacation to the Bahamas and I'll probably make it back in time before the next game is offered. :D

groze: Does anyone have a copy of Jack Keane 2 that could spare me? I'll trade it for one of Neverwinter Nights 2.

Stoltverd: Has Torment or nwn diamond showed up yet? :/ kinda fell asleep again, I'm too tired
Torment keeps in development by obsidian

Planetescape Torment has not appeared yet
Has jade empire been up yet or can I go back to sleep?
Seeing that here are a lot of knowledgeable gamers I have a question.

I have seen and heard a lot of rave about a few rpgs. My main gripe is, that I don't really like squad based rpgs, the only one I enjoyed is a rather odd one Fallout Tactics, but that is almost just complete combat.

I really do enjoy more soloing in rpgs and not the have a complete group.

Should this keep me from getting something like:

Planescape: Torment, BG 1 or 2 or the likes of similar big ones?

These games seem nice, but the group thing put me off.

CarrionCrow: It wasn't a matter of interest or disinterest. I had problems with it for quite a while, but decided to continue throwing good hours after bad in order to complete it. It had already reached absurd levels (being essentially invulnerable, maxed out in every skill), but the straw that broke that particular camel's back was the level cap. I hit 30 well before the end, well before I got through even half the expansions. Without that last motivator, I said to hell with it.
Fair enough. A lot of my interest with the game was with my completionist tendencies and my drive to exploit every glitch possible. I wasn't particularly a fan of the limited voice actors and lines of dialogue, the primary gameplay had a few annoyances and glitches of its own, and a couple of story portions felt a bit hokey...especially at the very end (both pre- and post- Broken Steel). I still genuinely liked many parts of the game, though, so I don't know what that says about me.

Schemilix: Don't buy HOMM5 based on liking the others. It deviated drastically.

I liked it, I guess, but it's not really like the others.
I'm actually waiting for this one... I saw a little bit of the game some years ago and I think I want it!
just want to be kind to jack keane developers

foorti: just got back from duties...and im eyening homm5 too
is it worth buying.. i liked homm2. questionmark
It's extremely subjective. For me, HoMM V is a total turd. I cannot stand the camera, the fact that it took 3 steps back compared to HoMM IV (which brough a lot of innovation) and still could not manage to get the depth and charm of HoMM III.

So, I would be very careful - download a demo (or, you know, a "demo") of HoMM V before committing money to it, because there is a chance of being very infuriatingly disappointed.
