Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Schemilix: Which FFs have you played since, CarrionCrow? Tactics is by far the best in my eyes, for example. It's my favourite game for its plot and enjoyable battle system.

I find 6 so... I loathe to use the word, overrated. It's better than 7 and 8 but to me it's pretty shallow and lifeless... like most FF titles actually.
Let's see....1,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,tried 10-2 but my hands tried to strangle me to death within ten minutes, 13 and 13-2. Also, I forgot Tactics, but that was definitely enjoyable until they threw the deus ex machine gamebreaker NPC into the mix, making me feel like the 65 hours I'd spent didn't amount to a whole hell of a lot.
definetely i don't get something about this forum

I don't have it... but YES, IS A GREAT GAME! BUY IT FAST!! FAAAAAST
Heads up for users in the UK, my ISP is reporting major connectivity issues due to a failure on the wholesale side and they are warning that many users may be affected, especially at peak times.

Given it's a wholesale problem, multiple ISPs may have the same problem, so if there's anything in the sale you're desperate for that may come up tonight, it might be as well to have a backup connection ready.

For everyone else around the world, this is could be good news?! a bit less competition from the UK ;)
Mercy-bought Real Texas 2 days ago and now it's back haunting us... Good thing GOG had sense to offer only 200 copies.

CarrionCrow: Don't feel like you're the only one. I don't like Mass Effect, loathed Fallout 3, only found enjoyment in New Vegas by running through it, killing everything I could and never using a shop, got bored to tears by Skyrim, haven't liked a Final Fantasy since 6, got sick of Dragon Age and never finished it, played through System Shock 2 once to completion then decided to never play it again because I didn't think it was that great.

lubwak: Ypu mentioned cheap "RPGs" for the most part. New Vegas was great because of the story, System Shock mainly because of dialogues. Skyrim's best quality wasn't the story, but the possibilities it gave you. Bethesda makes tedious games with average story that must be played moderately, if you do not want to get fed up with them. Ne Vegas was made by Obsidian, so the only disadvantage was the F3 engine. F3 was awful in so many ways that I'd better not get myself started on it.
Fallout 3 was 105 hours of "Please get your fist out of my sphincter, it really distracts me from the INCREDIBLY FRIGGING IMPORTANT, CRUCIAL AND VITAL INVENTORY MANAGEMENT".
The "Keane" jokes definitely don't apply to The Real Texas, it's funny as hell. Well worth the discounted price, even full price (8.99 I think?).

Schemilix: Don't you feel a twinge when you play Leisure Suit Larry? Like 'this is a manifestation of a problem in Western society' maybe? Oy vey.
Well, yeah - but how is that any different than putting a bullet in a pixelated head in so many other games?
