Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

cpucrust: Actually if anyone has experience with Gamers Gate, I was interested in a title named "Flat Out 2" a racing game which on GG claims to be DRM free.

Is it really DRM free like in the sense that GOG titles are? Or am I constrained by some kind of GG downloader/spyware that I must use to get/install the game?

Appreciate any guidance or thoughts on the GG experience.

gmyx: I've bought a few things from them. mostly got steam keys but some are regular downloads. I don't know if they have any drm in the regular downloads.
one that i brought used secure rom or something like that
Grabbed myself a copy of Riddick only cause you guys said it was good.
If someone would pm me a Witcher 1 key, i would be sooo happy.

It is a good one, enjoy!

vpaulve: Land of Lore 1+2 or Anvil of Dawn?
They both have auto mapping If I recall correctly and good 2d graphic(the exception is LOL 2 which has digitized graphic a la Might and Magic 7)
LOL is a party based dungeon crawler while in AOD and LOL 2 you're alone against foes
AOD is more similiar to Dungeon Master than to Eye of The Beholder as you are not rewarded by experience points for killing monsters etc but you improve your skills by using them in game
By the way I don't think LOL 1+2 is on sale so I'd suggest to get Anvil

jackster79: Thunderscape
The Lords of Midnight
Retro City Rampage
Chains of Satinaav
Jade Empire
Don't Starve

Still attempting to get Assassin's Creed & La Mulana, and possibly Beyond Good and Evil.

Fezred: Did you play the original LoM? That was a gem of a game back in the day. Really felt like an adventure.
No, that was from an era just before I got into gaming (and even then only on the Nintendo systems). However, my fellow team-member at work did and listening to his take on the game helped influence me getting it during this sale. From what I gather, it is both a RTS and an Action/Adventure, depending on one's playstyle?
Was there something between Anvil of Dawn and The Chronicles of Riddick? and before Anvil of Dawn?

stinusmeret: I know but that requires dealing with their drm which I don't really want to cause I've never used Gamersgate :P
It IS very tempting though.

RichterSnipes: No, it's best you avoid that purchase. TAGES is one of the worst DRM mechanisms out there, and it looks like at least the first two games in the series has it from there.
Tages... uggghhhh... french should stay away from the software industry just like they will in the world cup.
Riddick! Finally...
Riddick speed is much more to my liking...
I already played Butcher Bay, but i don't mind replaying the enhanced version, it was such a good game. I'll also enjoy the extra game.
Must hold out for Jade Empire...

You will have to educate me on what that stands for and what it does, exactly.

D3athR3aver: If a game is given out as free, does it get removed from the list of games, or will it pop up later in the list as a regular sales deal?
avatar
xenxander: cyan text from devs, last night, stated (paraphrased):

If it's a 'free' game, it will not be a 'last chance'. It will come up again, if it hasn't already, this 3rd cycle.
Oh thank goodness! I would hate to miss Theme Hospital purely because I couldn't get the free giveaway!

No. Nothing between the two.
Before Anvil was Retro City Rampage.
For seven hours.
