Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Ghorpm: Hi there! I see that a lot of you are still vigilant and ready to grab whatever you think is worth. Well, good luck with your hunt! :)
Eh, I just woke up not too long ago. I'm backing up some of my games (well, all of them really) and watching YouTube vids and playing other games while I wait for Keanes to pass. So I wouldn't say I'm vigilant. I'd expect the others to be doing something similar (their own thing while they wait, also, this thread has its moments of sheer joy).

skeletonbow: Another factor for the slowness is probably North America is the largest market for GOG I'm guessing, and it is 5:19am EST here right now so everyone is sleeping. I imagine if it was 1:00pm RCR would sell much faster (or any game).
True, but I'm weird enough so 5:19 isn't bad (usually because I'm up that late or sleep through the day or something weird like that). Although I know what you're talking about regarding the plebians....

Ugh, again, this time (also I think last time too) just from replying a couple times in a row. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

SixDollarMan: Did I miss Giana Sisters, when I was sleeping?
No, I turned of the computer 5-6 hours ago and when I turn it on it´s still RTCR, I haven´t seen Giana Sisters being "Last chance" yet at least.

I read a few posts and I've seen some people happy about getting their beloved games so it cannot be that bad ;) True RCR is going slowly so I guess nobody is glued to the main page right now...

Slowly is an understatement. Its set to break Jack Keane 2's record breaking run ....

Is it so? I've logged on not so long ago and it dropped from ~210 to 183 already. It could be worse I think...

Jack Keane only had 100 copies, though. Nobody is gonna surpass The Keaning!
X Rebirth launched
Min req 4GB ram
Recommended 8GB ram... wtf...
Metacritic user rating 4.3/10 lol

DubConqueror: Well, it surely wan't the fault of the freebie?

The sale will be officialy dead when even a freebie slows to a crawl.

skeletonbow: They could put up a freebie giveaway of 5000 copies of "Goat Petting Simulator" and people would snap them all up in probably less than a minute.

(Yes, I know what you're thinking... WTF is Goat Petting Simulator... I KNOW EH! :) Believe it or not - it actually exists!)
GOG should put 250 copies op Goat Petting Simulator up for $11.99, it would give everyone time to finish playing their whole backlog of games on GOG and then establish world peace before the next game comes up. It would win GOG the Nobel Prize!
I turned off the computer just minutes after seeing Retro City Rampage so this game has been staying for 5-6 hours, 400 copies has been sold in that time.
So, Insomnia will continue for 2 more days, right? :D
Wow i went out for 2 hours and its still RCR...
Just ran through the old pages and checked. RCR went up roughly 5 hours ago. It is now neck and neck with Keane for the longest godsdamned wait for one game to pass.
At this rate, I should have enough time to watch movie with my girlfriend.
